Katy Perry & Gayle King Kiss Earth After Epic Space Launch

Katy Perry flew through the sky like a firework through the sky on April 14 for a 10-minute trip into space. Katy joined Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn for Blue Origin’s all-female flight, NS-31. Per Entertainment Weekly, the women surpassed the Kármán line, the boundary of space, and returned back to Earth. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that made Gayle King smile. She called space quiet and peaceful and a reminder for those of us on Earth to be good. “It’s so nasty and so vitriolic nowadays and if everybody could experience that peace that we had up there and the kindness and what it takes to do what we did — all the people that it took to get us up there and get us back safely? I’ll never, ever forget,” Gayle said. Gayle King Recalled The Special Song Katy Perry Sang Gayle King said it was so special to listen to Katy Perry sing What a Wonderful World. The Firework singer said she chose the song for good reason.   “It’s about us. It’s about making space for future women, and taking up space and belonging,” she continued. “And it’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth.” Katy Perry and Gayle King both kissed the ground when they returned to Earth. Even though their flight only lasted a few minutes, the impact will be with them for a lifetime. Kate said of the flight, “I think this experience has shown me you never know how much love is inside of you, how much love you have to give, and how loved you are until the day you launch,” she added.
