I Think I Relate To Luke Combs’ Golf Game More Than Any Song He’s Ever Written

Luke Combs has never been more relatable. And he’s one of the most relatable country artists in the entire genre. And yet, I’ve never felt more seen than in this clip of singing…. no, wait… playing golf. Ahead of the country music star’s headlining gig at Boots in the Park Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Combs found some time to get out to a nearby golf course. And it was a classic example of looking the part (Luke even had a hat from Tiger Woods’ new golf apparel brand Sun Day Red), but not exactly backing it up with the proper golfing ability. Unless you consider proper golfing ability to consist of: -Throwing clubs -Swing-induced injury -Sarcastic responses to bad shots -Slamming clubs -Dropping f-bombs If that’s what it takes, Luke Combs is already prepared to teach a golfing masterclass (maybe he could even focus on lessons with his “Spray and Pray” method). Or at the very least, he could explore being a golf content creator… which he hinted at being very interested in during the course of the video. Well, not so much hinted at as “ready to give up his country music career for it.” The playful caption for the clip that he posted on his social media account read: “It was nice knowing you country music, but I’m gonna have to chase my calling as a golf content creator.” Could Luke Combs become of the first, truly not-so-great golf content creators to get massive numbers? With his built-in country music fan base already established, I’ve got a feeling that Luke would have no problem whatsoever transitioning into the golf content world. Even if he plays bad, I’d still be interested in watching just for hilarious reactions. The video below will likely have you laughing as you watch Combs hit some good shots (and more bad shots). His real-time responses to his positioning on the golf course are comical, and the club throws and club slams are just as well-timed as the f-bombs that went flying across the course. I felt this to my CORE. Check out Luke Combs’ first entry into the golf content creator space below: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Luke Combs (@lukecombs) Oh okay… he was just joking about the golf content creator thing. Good to know that Luke Combs country music career isn’t going anywhere. This is clearly one of those “stick to your day job” situations. I don’t think we actually have to worry about the “Beautiful Crazy” singer going full-time with golf content creation. That being said… I’d certainly tune into that “Breaking 200” series that Combs hinted at in the video above. For those that don’t know about that type of golf content video, talented golfers (like Bryson DeChambeau) typically try to break 60, or some golfers that are still trying to get their feet underneath them might do a “Breaking 90” video. Combs saying he’d be doing a “Breaking 200” series would really be setting the bar low, but like I said, I feel like people would definitely tune in. And if you were to ask me my favorite part of the golf course footage that Luke Combs shared, it would probably be the quote he provided after he hit a great shot to set up a birdie putt: “I don’t think it was intentional, but it felt good.” Golf in a nutshell. The post I Think I Relate To Luke Combs’ Golf Game More Than Any Song He’s Ever Written first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
