Joe Jonas And Sierra Ferrell Team Up For New Duet, “Sip Your Wine”
Please don’t hate me, but… I’m not mad at this.
Today, pop star Joe Jonas released a new solo album called Music For People Who Believe In Love, which features a song called “Sip Your Wine” with one of country music’s most talented acts in Sierra Ferrell.
The pair recently performed a beautiful duet of “You’re Still The One” in Dallas while Ferrell was opening for Post Malone, and Joe is one third of the boy band the Jonas Brothers. This is probably a good time to admit that, as a woman approaching 30, I will always and forever be a Jonas Brothers girl at heart. I also love and believe in classic country music, but before I fell in love with country, I was screaming my little heart out to “Burnin’ Up” and “Year 3,000,” and I will always love those songs. Sue me…
The acoustic version they played at an intimate show more recently is the one for me, though:

Joe actually performed at Nashville’s historic venue The Bluebird Cafe not long ago too, singing acoustic versions of hits like “Burnin’ Up”:

This isn’t the first time Joe has worked in the country space, either, as he was featured on a song with Ashley Cooke called “All I Forgot” earlier this year. We all know it’s become extremely trendy these days for pop stars like the aforementioned Post Malone, Beyoncé, Chapel Roan and others to make country albums, or even just country-influenced singles, because that’s simply what’s popular right now.
The production and sound of “Sip Your Wine” is certainly a far cry from what we’re typically used to hearing from Sierra, and while it’s an unexpected pairing, she can quite literally sing anything and make it sound incredible so this is obviously no different. I actually enjoy hearing her on something so different like this, and like I said, I’m an unashamed Jonas Brothers fan so I was really excited to see they were working together.
Obviously, it’s not a country song at all and Sierra is simply featured on it, but she’s such a talented, versatile artist and it’s cool to see her getting her flowers from huge artists outside of country music, too.
