Priscilla Presley Turns 80: Riley Keough Celebrates Grandmother’s Birthday With Throwback Photo
At 80, most people are slowing down, but Priscilla Presley is doing the opposite. She is releasing a memoir, getting tributes from her grandchildren, and still turning heads with throwback photos. For someone who has lived most of her life in the public eye, Priscilla’s 80th birthday wasn’t just another milestone; it was a well-celebrated event.
On May 24, 2025, Riley Keough, Priscilla’s eldest granddaughter, shared a simple but striking birthday tribute on Instagram Stories. “HBD queen,” she wrote, reposting a fan-shared black-and-white photo of Priscilla from the 1960s. In it, Priscilla sits confidently behind the wheel, wearing a floral headband.
Priscilla Presley’s son, Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, also posted a heartfelt tribute

Priscilla Presley may be forever linked with Elvis, but her story started long before they met. However, her journey took an unexpected turn when, at just 14, she met 24-year-old Elvis Presley in Germany. They married eight years later, in 1967, at a private ceremony in Las Vegas.

Their marriage ended in 1973, but Priscilla raised their daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, built a career in acting and business, and stayed active in preserving Elvis’s legacy. And after Lisa Marie’s death, she has supported her granddaughters, including Keough, who inherited Graceland. Riley wasn’t the only one to share love for Priscilla. Earlier this month, Priscilla’s son, Navarone Garibaldi Garcia, also posted a heartfelt tribute for Mother’s Day. “Happy Mother’s Day to my whole world. I love you, mama,” he wrote.

Priscilla Presley is releasing a new memoir
Priscilla’s 80th comes just months before the release of her second memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis, co-written with Mary Jane Ross. The book, which is set for release on September 23, promises to explore her identity outside of Elvis’s shadow, her triumphs, losses, and the strength it took to rediscover herself more than once. It’s a follow-up to her earlier book Elvis and Me, but this time, the focus shifts to her years after the King’s death, especially how she managed life as a single mother, public figure, and later as the mom of a second child, Garcia, born in 1987.

“Writing it has been a learning experience on many levels,” Priscilla said in a statement. “I have reflected deeply both on myself and on those I love.” She added that while her admiration for Elvis remains strong, her time living without him showed her just how extra ordinary he was.
