Metallica concert saved a family’s life from a deadly crash

Being fans of Metallica saved a family life in Goodview, Virginia last May 6. The couple David and Kristin McKee said that they went to bed earlier that day than usual because on the next day they were going to drive their 14-year old daughter to a Metallica show. Usually they would still be in their living room watching TV if it wasn't for that show. That change saved their lives since an out-of-control pickup truck crashed through the front of their home about 2 am that night. Kristin said she thanks God everyday that Metallica saved them She recalled what happened in an interview with local TV news station WDBJ7. “(I asked David,) ‘Do you wanna sit up?’ And he was like, ‘Nah, I think I just wanna go on to bed.’ I said, ‘I’ll go on to bed too.’ Then, just a few hours later, we heard a loud explosion, glass shattered. It was just madness from that point on.” “We were so fortunate that, that night, my daughter could have walked down that hallway and found us in the rubble. I thank God every day, and Metallica, for saving us.” Their daughter Madeleine discovered Metallica through the song "Master of Puppets", which was part of an incredible scene on the fourth season of Netflix's "Stranger Things".  “That was mostly when it started a lot more for me,” she said. Their house is currently under repair and they might be able to move back within six months. Curiously Metallica announced recently the documentary "Metallica Save My Life" which will show the band's fanbase and their personal stories. The film will be directed by Jonas Åkerlund. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vaL0GF6Fmk&pp=ygUVbWV0YWxsaWNhIHNhdmUgZmFtaWx50gcJCY0JAYcqIYzvThe post Metallica concert saved a family’s life from a deadly crash appeared first on Rock and Roll Garage.
