According to Entertainment Weekly, Summer Howell, whose previous credits include Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky, will play the titular Carrie, a teenager who gets bullied at a new school and, well, Sissy Spacek showed all of us in the 1976 film adaptation how that ended. We also found out that Samantha Sloyan will be playing Carrie’s mother, Margaret White. If you’ve seen Flanagan’s Midnight Mass or Fall of the House of Usher, you’re familiar with Sloyan; she played an annoyingly devout nun in the former (pictured above) and one of doomed Usher siblings in the latter. Amazon MGM Studios announced additional cast members as well, including Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy’s) as Principal Grayle, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, Thalia Dudek (The Running Man) as Emaline, Siena Agudong as the remorseful Sue Snell, Amber Midthunder (Prey) as Miss Desjardin, Josie Totah (The Buccaneers) as Tina, Arthur Conti (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) as Billy, and Joel Oulette as Tommy. The eight-episode series will start filming in Vancouver this summer. Flanagan is serving as showrunner and will direct select episodes. No news yet on when the show will premiere on Prime Video.[end-mark] The post Carrie TV Series Snags Summer Howell, Samantha Sloyan & More for Cast appeared first on Reactor.
