Chase Stegall, a soccer player for DePaul University and the son of former professional football player Milton Stegall, died suddenly this week. He was 20. Stegall was reportedly found deceased in his dorm on the university’s campus Monday morning. In the coming days, we will support Chase’s family and teammates through this devastating time. His loss will be deeply felt across our entire Athletics and university family and his memory will forever be a part of DePaul University.” The student-run newspaper, The DePaulia, reported Tuesday that Stegall passed “in his residence hall on the university’s Lincoln Park campus.” The cause of death has not been revealed. Milton Stegall played three years in the National Football League with the Cincinnati Bengals and 14 years in the Canadian Football League with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. “We are heartbroken by the passing of Chase Stegall. He also played in the Southern Soccer Academy, a youth recreational and competitive league in Georgia. A spokesperson for the Cook County Medical Examiner in Chicago said the autopsy is complete, but more tests are needed to determine the cause and manner of death. WATCH:
