Famed Soap Opera Actor Dies Following Career Spanning Eight Decades
After a career spanning eight decades, famed actor Chris Robinson passed away. Chris’ first credited role was in 1959’s Beast from Haunted Cave. He worked consistently for decades, performing recurring roles at The Bold and the Beautiful and General Hospital. Starring in a Vicks Formula 44 cough syrup commercial, Chris Robinson was the first to say the famous line, “I’m not a doctor, but I do play one on TV.” He played his final role as Ted Hurst in 2022’s Just for a Week. Fans learned of the actor’s death from a Facebook post on the General Hospital Fans Page.

The News Of Chris Robinson’s Death Saddened His Fans
In a lengthy post, longtime friend MJ Allen shared the news of Chris Robinson’s death.
“Dr. Rick Webber has died. Prolific Hollywood actor Chris Robinson has passed away at the age of 86. He peacefully passed in his sleep at his ranch near Sedona, Arizona at 12:30am on June 9, 2025. He had been in heart failure for some time, and is his official cause of death,” MJ wrote.
“Thank you for sharing this information with us. I noticed that you have worked in quite a few projects with Chris. It seems as though you had a great friendship,” a fan shared. “I’m truly sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed watching him work alongside Denise Alexander on GH in the 80’s They were my favorite super couple of all time! May he rest in peace.”
This fan noticed Chris Robinson’s death came soon after two co-stars on General Hospital.
“And Denise Alexander, Lesley died in March and Leslie Charleson, Monica passed away in January. All three involved in their storyline gone within months of each other. So sad! The show was so good back in the day.”
Chris Robinson was 86 years old and is survived by his wife Jacquie and five sons.
