Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington, D.C., was shut down for a period Tuesday after a scary scene where a bomb was reported to be on a flight. The incident appears to be contained as of this writing, but investigations are continuing.

Although things look to have turned out all right, it was a scary moment:
DCA GROUND CONTROL: "I'm sorry I have to do this you... we have an unconfirmed bomb report for your flight."

The shutdown was called for after a device was reported to be on a flight that was coming in from Texas (emphasis theirs):
Flight operations have resumed at Reagan National Airport after a "security" threat forced a ground stop, according to airport officials and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Officials said the threat was made against an incoming United Airlines flight. The airline confirmed the flight was traveling into DCA from Houston.
This is the statement the FAA put out after the ground stop:
"The FAA is aware of a reported security issue on an aircraft at Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Passengers have been removed, and the aircraft is away from the terminal while authorities investigate."
BREAKING: All flights in and out of Reagan National Airport are currently halted due to a bomb threat on a flight, a source familiar with the situation tells me. The plane is isolated on the east end of the field.

Although operations are reportedly returning to normal, the plane in question has been pulled to the side for further investigation.
Neither the airline nor the FAA has said what the threat was, but on an air traffic control recording, the controller can be heard instructing the United pilot that they are moving the plane away from the airport due to an “unconfirmed bomb report” for the flight.
Scary times indeed. RedState will keep you updated if there are any new developments.
