There are several takeaways from the Democrat election wins last night, and Republicans absolutely must pay attention. The election results were not a surprise: all were in Trump-hating blue states. Trump-hate lives in the hearts of nearly all Democrats (with the one exception of John Fetterman D-PA). And as long as that exists, the trajectory of the United States will be in great danger even with a President who cares about America.
1: Mamdani in New York. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Socialist/Communist Zohran Mamdani won the mayor’s race last night. Cuomo was roundly hated from his disgusting actions during Covid. Sliwa has tried many times, but in blue New York his candidacy was doomed before it started. A candidate like former Republican Mayor Rudi Guiliani hasn’t been seen over two decades.
For NYC this is a wakeup call. Mamdani is a Muslim, and it’s not “islamophobia” to remind New York that Muslims do not assimilate – they subjugate. Islam is not a religion; it is a political system. And taking control of a large city is just part of the agenda. This man wants to arrest Netanyahu, revamp and defund the NYPD, and his antisemitic hatred of Jews sill be even more visible as time goes on. Muslims will not change their stripes without a major move of God.
While Mamdani will have some of his proposals revealed as impossible, others will drive NYC into the dirt. Example: of you are a property owner in NYC, and rents are “frozen,” your income will go down significantly. Mamdani has stated he wanted to abolish private property, a platform of Communists.
2: California redistricting (Prop 50) will add at least 5 Democrat seats to the House of Representatives. This could very well destroy the Republican majority. Courts generally do not enter a redistricting battle, so the chances of having this reversed are nil for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections. They’ve been missing a candidate like Ronald Reagan for decades.
California has plenty of Republicans, primarily in the Northern part of the state. The new redistricting seriously damages their votes. The basis of Prop 50 was rooted in a push by Gov Gavin Newsom to create a “bulwark” against Trump. He openly planned to make California “Trump-proof.”
In one of the political ads for Prop 50 was a woman who specifically said she was voting for this to “bleep bleep” tell Trump to “shove it.”
Congratulations to California! CA voters passed Prop 50, so new election maps can be drawn, to help combat Trump’s gerrymandering.
Thanks to California voters living abroad, for voting in this important election. Your #VoteFromAbroad can make a huge difference in state races.… pic.twitter.com/hQvG8zcfk3

3: The Democrat sweep of key state races in Virginia and New Jersey. Here we have warning signs for Republicans. Yes, these are blue states. There were scandals on the Democrat candidates that were ignored by voters. But all of the Democrats ran on a platform of resisting Trump. Both Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill constantly bashed President Trump.
The Virginia AG race saw Jay Jones and his fantasy about killing his opponents win by a slim margin. But he still won. Voters looked past the dangerous nature of his texts and put him in the top law enforcement position in Virginia. This is a catastrophe. They’ll find out.
Asking an obvious question here, but how could any woman hear what Jones said about wanting his opponent’s wife and young children dead, and still vote for this person? https://t.co/XcbTLjm055

The Vice President stated it was because Republicans tend to stay home in off year elections.
“We need to focus on the home front. The president has done a lot that has already paid off in lower interest rates and lower inflation, but we inherited a disaster from Joe Biden and Rome wasn’t built in a day,” the vice president continued. “We’re going to keep on working to make a decent life affordable in this country, and that’s the metric by which we’ll ultimately be judged in 2026 and beyond.”
“The infighting is stupid. I care about my fellow citizens–particularly young Americans–being able to afford a decent life, I care about immigration and our sovereignty, and I care about establishing peace overseas so our resources can be focused at home. If you care about those things too, let’s work together,” Vance also said. Fox
The rest of the problems, from Republican infighting to actual stupid people are almost insurmountable without Republicans gearing up to motivate voters. It’s “traditional” that off-year elections go against incumbents. But if the GOP gets their act together, we can still win next year.
