- The series, originally broadcast from 1998 to 2006, follows the Halliwell sisters, powerful witches balancing supernatural battles and modern life in San Francisco.
- Charmed was one of the WB’s most popular shows, but was notable for controversial cast changes including Shannen Doherty’s departure and Rose McGowan’s addition.
Great news for anyone who spent the 2000s trying to figure out if you had secret magical powers: beginning January 3, 2026, Charmed will join Start TV’s lineup with eight episodes airing every Saturday, from 12-5pm ET/PT, and then again from 10pm-1am.
Charmed, which originally aired on the WB from 1998 until 2006, followed the adventures of the Halliwell sisters — three modern ladies who discover that they just so happen to be the most powerful witches ever known to mankind, and must keep the earth safe from evil while also trying to maintain their lives as young, single women in San Francisco.
One of the last shows produced by Aaron Spelling before his 2006 death, Charmed was one of the WB’s most popular shows — despite on-set drama that led to star Shannen Doherty to depart the series at the end of the third season (allegedly due to conflicts with costar Alyssa Milano). Doherty was replaced by Rose McGowan, who starred alongside Milano and Holly Marie Combs in the show’s final five seasons (Jennifer Love Hewitt was originally considered for the role of the new Halliwell sister, but passed on the part ). The final season also saw an early career appearance by Kaley Cuoco, just one year before she began her star turn on The Big Bang Theory. A 2018 reboot of the series with all new actors ran on the CW for four seasons.
Start TV will be airing the series in order, beginning with the pilot, “Something Wicca This Way Comes.”
