Robert Wagner shared a sentimental snap of his wedding day with Natalie Wood … that is, his first wedding day with Natalie Wood. The Hart to Hart star, 95, posted a photo of himself and Wood in an embrace, writing “Remembering this special day 68 years ago, when Natalie and I said “I do.” Happy Anniversary, Nat. More than love!”

Wood and Wagner first met when Wood was 14; supposedly, the actress immediately told her mother, per People, “I’m going to marry that man.” Wood and Wagner’s first wedding day was December 28, 1957 — they divorced in 1962, only to later reconnect and remarry 10 years later, on July 16, 1972.

Academy Award nominee Wood, whose work in films like Rebel Without a Cause, West Side Story, Miracle on 34th Street and Gypsy is still acclaimed today, died on November 29, 1981, at the age of 43, under mysterious circumstances while on a boat with Wagner and actor Christopher Walken. Her death was initially ruled an accidental drowning, but in 2011, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department reopened the case, due to new testimony from the boat’s captain. No charges were ever filed.

In his 2016 memoir, Wagner wrote “When Natalie died, I thought my life was over.” The actor is known to post frequent tributes to Wood on his social media.
