We made it to 2026, which means it’s time for me to thank everyone who reads and subscribes to my blog. I love writing about the history of film, television and games so much that I would do this whether you were here or not, but the fact that you are here makes doing it more fun, and I plan on writing many more articles about art, entertainment and the creators who bring these things to life.
Get ready to spend the next year in the kingdom of Hyrule because I’m going to be writing a lot about The Legend of Zelda in honor of that series’ 40th anniversary. I’m going to do deep dives into each of the main entries in the series from the NES era to the Nintendo Switch era. But I’m also going to dedicate a lot of articles this year to video games in general, because Zelda is not the only game celebrating an anniversary in 2026. However many of the games I’m referring to are RPGs and adventure games and they will fit right in with the Zelda theme (as you may remember I wrote an article last year about the history of role-playing games, so think of this as a continuation of my exploration of that genre). But for now, have a happy 2026. And may you slay every evil you face this year!
