Well, this is awkward.
Hilton Hotels is refusing service to the Department of Homeland Security agents who are engaged in immigration enforcement activities in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul region.

The decision was likely made by the local franchisee, EverPeak Hospitality, and not the corporate office, but that will make no difference at all as the public backlash (and applause, no doubt) rolls in.
Hilton has a massive public relations headache to deal with.

This is UNACCEPTABLE. Why is Hilton Hotels siding with murderers and rapists to deliberately undermine and impede DHS law enforcement from their mission to enforce our nation’s immigration laws?
Generally speaking, pissing off the federal government, and ICE in particular, when you run a business that likely employs a lot of workers with sketchy immigration histories, would not seem to be a good move. And given how fungible demand is for hotel rooms is—let's face it, one hotel room at any particular class of hotel is much like the other—I doubt that the fine folks at Hilton headquarters welcome the scrutiny and controversy.

Hey @HiltonHotels — why did your team in Minneapolis cancel our federal law enforcement officer and agents' reservations? pic.twitter.com/xuoBvfcPkV

The refusal to house ICE and other Homeland Security agents may have been made at the local level, but the refusal, which quite specifically referred to politics, came from a Hilton email and referred specifically to the corporation. There's no easy way for Hilton to pass the buck. It's not even clear how they could do so unless their contract includes a clause that allows them to terminate EverPeak immediately.
this is almost certainly a decision by the franchisee, EverPeak Hospitality, and not Hilton corporatehttps://t.co/gULNigVXVY https://t.co/5AI25AGnEZ pic.twitter.com/h3ZowIn2zB

Even worse for Hilton and EverPeak, in the midst of a PR war being waged over immigration and a scandal in Minnesota over fraud being committed almost exclusively by immigrants, the executive team all have names that sound "immigration-y." Legally that shouldn't matter, but politically...it does.
Less than five minutes on this site and I’ve already found over $32M in SBA 7(a) loans to eight Indian gas stations in Texas.
Such highly skilled human capital that they need to run gas stations with our tax-backed loans. All they do is commit fraud, bleeding us dry. https://t.co/gHPDTn7hWx pic.twitter.com/l6dHoXStca

You can bet there will be all sorts of scrutiny about business loans and the like. When people are angry about Indian-owned businesses receiving SBA loans for gas stations, the Internet sleuths will come out of the woodwork to find out everything they can.
Yikes, they put it in writing too. Hilton PR is about to have a rough day. https://t.co/vOxwcDzKbw

No doubt, Hilton Hotels executives are reeling at this unexpected headache. They are likely fearing the Bud Light/Target treatment, given how their product is another commodity that can easily be replaced. As a practical matter, few liberals are going to change their behavior to thank Hilton for standing up to big bad ICE, but more than a few Trump supporters will remember this slight.
BREAKING: Hilton in Minneapolis is now REFUSING service to DHS law enforcement.

Republicans used to disdain things like boycotts, but over the past few years, we have gotten feisty and have also seen the power that comes from flexing our economic muscle. Liberals may have more billionaires in their pockets, or at least did, but purchasing power rests with the vast middle class.
As a Diamond Member, I reached out to support to ask if it’s @HiltonHotels policy to discriminate against customers based on their employment. Their reply:
“No, Hilton does not discriminates anyone on any basis.” https://t.co/AfVP3zfMrS pic.twitter.com/q6szO0D39b

And we are tired of getting dumped on.
If it turns out that EverPeak made the decisions and that Hilton only had its name attached, would it be fair to punish them for this?
? JUST IN: Conservatives are demanding a boycott on Hilton after they launched a COORDINATED ANTI-ICE campaign in Minneapolis, outright refusing service to any DHS law enforcement

Who cares? For years, major corporations kowtowed to liberals and imposed onerous and destructive DEI policies, contributed to liberal causes to placate leftists, and catered to every whim any leftist ever had. Why, now, should they be immune to our wrath?

Hilton Hotels receives millions in grants and tax financing across multiple states, including Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana.
If Hilton does not want DHS law enforcement staying, states should pull their grants! https://t.co/X8IZHdwnh0
