Zohran Mamdani is sticking by Cea Weaver, the communist 'tenant advocate' he has put in charge of seizing apartment buildings using city regulations.
Weaver is under immense fire for her history of racially charged anti-white tweets that she has wiped off the internet. She has advocated for seizing private property, electing communists, and using the power of the state to impoverish white people.

As you would expect, Weaver is a child of privilege, just as her boss is, and has the same Jacobin-inspired ideology of wiping away the current political order and replacing it with one of her own choosing.
Wikipedia included extensive quotes from Cea Weaver’s now deleted social media, which is a good sign.

Weaver has become a flashpoint in the opening days of Mamdani's administration, and Mayor Islami is standing foursquare behind her. That should come as no surprise, of course. She shares his ideological commitments and was one of his main advisors during his campaign.
Mamdani’s appointee Cea Weaver…
Isn’t this racist towards white people and sexist and racist towards white men?
How is this okay? pic.twitter.com/6SglceDZtV

The people unearthing these tweets are doing a great service, of course, but not because they are discovering anything that shouldn't have been known to anybody who cared to look. Until a few days ago, her record was out in the open, as was her close relationship to Mamdani.

One of the many nutty posts I found on Cea Weaver's Facebook, which she has deleted since my story dropped.

Why would Mamdani fire a woman whose only crime was agreeing with him 100%?
In a 2017 post, for example, she argued that “moving to a gentrifying neighborhood” is tantamount to “structural racism,” as is “moving to the suburbs,” before adding: “Property is theft.”
Weaver has also defended what she describes on Facebook as “the government’s sacred right to seize property” in a striking echo of her X posts in which she also appears to call for the abolition of not just abusive landlordism, but private property as such.
If any of this is a surprise to voters, that's only because they still foolishly believe anything that Pravda says. Pravda told them that Mamdani isn't a communist, so of course it is false that he is.
Mamdani: We need to seize the means of production, have the government buy up all the property, take away the rights of landlords, open government-owned grocery stores, and end rugged individualism to embrace the warmth of collectivism.

Mamdani made clear on his website that stealing property was part of his platform, not that anybody actually reads these websites or takes them too seriously.

NEW from me
In a 2021 podcast appearance Cea Weaver said her goal was to make New York City housing "worth less" through the use of rent control
Zohran Mamdani appears in the clip nodding along and then says:
"I get most of my knowledge on housing from Cea, so if you get it… pic.twitter.com/r3Qd5weMu5

But Mamdani was serious. Of course he was serious.

The media, or should I say the Pravda Media, is working hard to cover for Weaver to an almost comical extent. This is exactly what we should expect.
Now that the backlash has ignited over her blatant hypocrisy, Cea Weaver now says of her insane “home ownership is a weapon of white supremacy” comments:
“Some of those things are certainly not how I would say things today.”

"You're not out of your mind, right?" FFS, man. Look at her. Of course she is out of her mind! She has the brains of Joy Behar and the emotional continence of a toddler.
The New York Times has actually changed this title from:
"Cea Weaver Has Long Been a Firebrand."
To:
"This Activist Has Long Been Polarizing."
Written by Dana Rubinstein, Sally Goldenberg and Mihir Zaveri.
They removed her name.https://t.co/KWJ250Qhqq https://t.co/ZlcdX9g3Ce pic.twitter.com/2RMpV5v5nL

Weaver is a "firebrand." "Polarizing." I suppose in the way that Lenin was "polarizing," but is that exactly the word to describe a racist who literally says she intends to "impoverish" the white middle class?
Mayor Zohran Mamdani was asked about resurfaced social media posts from Cea Weaver, including one where she wrote, “Private property — especially homeownership — is a weapon of white supremacy.”
Mamdani said he fully backs Weaver and defended her role in the Office to Protect… pic.twitter.com/hAL7Gm6gL4

Imagine if she had said that about the "black middle class." Would those be the adjectives they chose? They can't even deploy the "far left wing" description, because "far" only applies rightward.
She is kind, caring, and compassionate.
A lot of people just assume that the revelation that Weaver is a hateful, racist communist would put a dent in her power, but they underestimate the depth of Mamdani's own commitment to race communism. He is quite open about it, and his administration confirmed that Weaver was chosen precisely because he shares her opinions.
The controversy came less than a month after Mr. Mamdani accepted the resignation of a former aide to Bill de Blasio whom he had named his director of appointments, after antisemitic social media posts from her youth were resurfaced.
But this time, Mr. Mamdani was not caught off-guard.
“She was vetted,” a spokeswoman for Mr. Mamdani, Dora Pekec, said on Tuesday. “We were aware of all of these tweets.”
Asked about Ms. Weaver’s posts at an unrelated news conference on Tuesday, Mr. Mamdani responded briefly, saying he had appointed her because of the work she had done to protect tenants. Then he hopped into a waiting car.

It's hard to say whether Mamdani will actually be able to use his power as mayor to start stealing property from under the rightful owners, but I expect the efforts to do so will begin shortly. It was always his intention to do so, and he has no reason to reverse course now.
