Behold the Violence Inherent in the System

An analysis of modern leftism's violent tendencies contrasted with its rhetoric of kindness and tolerance.

I have a hard time resisting Monty Python references these days, which is why I used one of the more famous lines from Monty Python and the Holy Grail as my headline, despite the fact that it only sorta fits my essay. Monty Python caught the absurdity of modern leftist ideology well before most people did, with its famous scenes like this one:

Not to mention "Loretta," which predicted the alphabet movement long before it burst out into the mainstream, and again linked it to the Anarcho-Marxist line of thinking.

There is an aspect of modern leftism they didn't seem to have understood though. Far from being merely absurd, experience tells us that it is dangerously violent. Socialist/Communist movements, even if you exclude the National Socialists, which I do not, have killed more human beings than any other in human history. If the bubonic plague was among the worst biological diseases to have hit mankind, socialism is surely the worst ideological disease to have ever existed.

Yet its great power over the mind is its constant reference to "kindness" and "tolerance," and its insistence that its goal is the creation of a utopian world where everybody not just coexists, but lives in love and harmony.

For some reason, lots of people believe this crap, to the point that half of all younger Democrats consider themselves to be socialists. Again today I am riffing off a piece written by Ed, in which he discusses Harry Enten's explanation of just how far left the Democrats have become.

42% of all Democrats under 35 consider themselves socialists. "Democratic socialist" is just a term; most of these people are communists.

And, like communists of old, their rhetorical pitch is about kindness, but all their symbolism and much of their activism is violent. The alphabet movement in particular is filled with violent imagery—"trans day of vengeance," anyone—and the actual violence is everywhere.

Protect trans kids, they said…

- Tumbler Ridge Shooter identified as trans;

- Annunciation Catholic Church shooter identified as trans;

- Nashville Christian shooter identified as trans;

- Lakewood Church shooter identified as trans;

- Colorado Springs shooter identified as non-binary;

- Denver shooter identified as trans;

- Aberdeen shooter identified as trans;

- Iowa high school shooter trans activist;

- Charlie Kirk’s assassin had a furry obsession and lived with transgender boyfriend.

The violent imagery is everywhere, and is pushed at the highest government levels. That photo of Peggy Flanagan, Minnesota's Lieutenant Governor and candidate for US Senate, was taken as she left the ceremony where Governor Walz signed a bill making Minnesota a "Trans Sanctuary State."

What's striking is how the "violence inherent in the system" trope is increasingly true, but that's because the people who run the system approve of trans violence and even advertise for it. Government sites, and government officials, using violent imagery to let everybody know that opposing the agenda is risky.

Back when I was directly involved in Minnesota politics, I was struck by how many posters Democratic staffers had up celebrating Che and Castro, and how many reference to violent revolution were on the walls as they worked.

During the worst of the ICE protests here, state and local government officials were on Signal chat groups where assaulting officers was a frequent topic of discussion, and there is a lot of evidence that government officials were feeding information to the "activists."

So yes, there is violence in the system, but it is coming not from Kings or conservatives; it is the socialists who see themselves as the good guys.

Editor's note: If we thought our job in pushing back against the Academia/media/Democrat censorship complex was over with the election, think again. This is going to be a long fight.
