Trumps Sits for Mar-a-Lago Interview, Says Iran Attacks Could Go on As Long As 4 Weeks

President Trump says U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran could last up to four weeks amid ongoing Operation Epic Fury.

As the joint U.S.-Israeli attacks against Iran continue with Operation Epic Fury, President Trump told the Daily Mail on Sunday that the mission could ultimately last a month.

As RedState’s Jennifer Van Laar reported earlier, the president spoke to the nation via a televised address to mourn the three U.S. service members who were killed and “send our immense love and eternal gratitude to the families of the fallen."

POTUS said mission plans indicated that it could go on for four weeks:

"It's always been a four-week process. We figured it will be four weeks or so. It's always been about a four-week process so - as strong as it is, it's a big country, it'll take four weeks - or less," the President explained.

He added that he hasn't been surprised by any of the outcomes of the strikes thus far.

'No, I think it's going as per planned. You know, other than we took out their entire leadership - far, far more than what we thought. Looks like 48,' he answered.

The President remained open to more talks with the Iranians, but couldn't say if they would happen 'soon.'

'I don't know,' he answered. 'They want to, they want to talk, but I said you should have talked last week not this week.'

As we reported, U.S. and Israeli missiles continue to rain down on the regime. Earlier on Sunday, Trump announced on social media that we took out nine naval ships:

They will soon be floating at the bottom of the sea, also! In a different attack, we largely destroyed their Naval Headquarters. Other than that, their Navy is doing very well! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

The regime’s leaders, those who managed to make it through the weekend alive anyway, have been lobbing missiles at countries throughout the Middle East, infuriating them and threatening to start a regional war. Trump said he spoke with the leaders of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, and a “couple of others.”

Referring to Saudi Arabia, which said in a statement Saturday that they’re considering using military force if the attacks continue, he said, “they're fighting, they're fighting too.”

POTUS is scheduled to return to the White House later Sunday to get ready for what is likely to be another incredibly busy news week. Asked if he was confident about the future and if he thought Iran could ever be a peaceful democratic nation, he sounded hopeful:

“I do,' he said. 'It'll be very interesting to watch, but a lot of things could happen and a lot of very positive things could happen.”
