In a surprise move on March 5, President Trump announced that DHS Secretary Noem would be replaced effective March 31. In her stead, he nominated Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin. He told Kristi Noem that she would be sent to a new position.

“The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at ‘Homeland.’” President Trump

“As the only Native American in the Senate, Markwayne is a fantastic advocate for our incredible Tribal Communities. Markwayne will work tirelessly to Keep our Border Secure, Stop Migrant Crime, Murderers, and other Criminals from illegally entering our Country, End the Scourge of Illegal Drugs and, MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN,” Trump said.

Mullin is the first Native American senator in decades, following Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell of Colorado. He appeared just as caught off guard by the announcement as the rest of Washington. Fox

Oh and P.S. Senator Mullin is a former MMA fighter. He understands strength.

Kristi Noem has been a lightning rod from the beginning of her position.

This action appears to have resulted from Noem claiming that she ran $220 Million for DHS advertisements showing her as the focus by President Trump. He reportedly was furious over that claim. Result: she’s fired.

Senator Markwayne Mullin is well-liked by his colleagues in the Senate and is known for his common sense.  We’ll see if Democrats stop being their usual moronic selves.
