Turning Point USA has been inundated with questions and requests about starting new campus chapters in the wake of its leader Charlie Kirk’s assassination, its spokesman said.
“I wanted to share a paise report from TPUSA. The organization has received over 32,000 inquiries in the last 48-hours to start new campus chapters,” stated its spokesman Andrew Kolvet on X on Saturday.
He added that TPUSA currently has 900 official college chapters, around 1,200 high school chapters, and a “presence” on a total of 3,500 campuses.
“Charlie’s vision to have a Club America chapter (our high school brand) in every high school in America (around 23,000) will come true much much faster than he could have ever possibly imagined. Truly incredible,” Kolvet stated.
The post has been viewed nearly 7 million times in the last 24 hours, with 60,000 likes and 12,000 retweets.
USA Today reported that “Turning Point USA did not immediately respond to requests for comment, asking how many of these requests were for college campuses.”
“Turning Point USA was founded by Kirk in 2012 and has since become a prominent right-wing political force,” the newspaper added. “Along with its presence on hundreds of college and high school campuses, the organization hosts conferences, encourages youth organizing on conservative issues and produces various media such as the ‘The Charlie Kirk Show.’ The group, and Kirk, have been closely aligned with the MAGA movement and are credited with helping mobilize support for President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.”
The influx could be related to Kirk’s widow’s powerful message, which aired Friday night in response to his murder.
Erika Kirk said his mission will become “stronger, bolder, louder and greater than ever,” encouraging young people to join or create Turning Point USA chapters if there is not one in their area, Fox News reported.
“He wants you to make a difference, and you can,” Erika Kirk had said. “The movement is not going anywhere, and it will only grow stronger when you join it.”
