Keir Starmer is, among many other things, a moron.
Yes, that is a bit unfair. He is not precisely a moron, but more a liberal technocratic individual who is incapable of seeing the bigger picture because he is laser-focused on implementing a moronic agenda that is guided more by wrongheaded and abstract principles than focused on the practical effects of his decisions.

In the wake of his idiotic decision to reward Hamas and the Palestinian Authority for their decades-long terrorist campaign to kill Jews and eliminate Israel ("From the River to the Sea"), Starmer had the brilliant idea to recognize a Palestinian State. Canada and Australia did so as well.
They didn't demand the cessation of terrorism or the release of the hostages. Instead, they chose the Neville Chamberlain diplomatic approach of preemptively giving in to the most evil people in the world in the hope that they could placate their enemies.
Some would argue that the P.A. is the moderate faction in the Palestinian movement, to which I say, "That's true, and that's the problem." Hamas directly terrorizes Jews and Israelis; the Palestinian Authority simply pays lifetime pensions to the families of martyrs who do the dirty work. While the "Martyrs' Fund" was officially abolished this year in February, after decades of consuming 7-8% of the P.A.'s budget, it continues to pay the families through a different "welfare" mechanism.
Bill Clinton, while president, worked tirelessly to negotiate a peace between the Palestinians and Israel, and eventually, he had to concede that they had no interest in statehood short of controlling all of Israel. Mahmoud Abbas is a bit smarter than Arafat, and he has figured out that getting recognition from the UK could provide a financial windfall.

As Britain recognized Palestine as a state, Abbas is now demanding that the UK provide reparations for the "damage" it did during the British Mandate, which gave the country control over "Palestinian" territories after World War I.
Now legal experts have warned that it could also be a costly decision – because the new country would ask for eye-watering damages in compensation for land 'taken from the Palestinian people' when Britain relinquished control of the region after the Second World War.
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who has a long history of threatening to sue Britain, is demanding 'reparations in accordance with international law' based on the value of the land which was under British rule between 1917 and 1948.
Some international law experts have described £2 trillion, roughly the size of Britain's total economy, as a 'good place to start'.
Families of the hostages abducted by Hamas in the October 7 attacks have written to the Prime Minister to condemn the decision, which they claim has 'dramatically complicated' efforts to be reunited with their relatives.
In an open letter to Sir Keir, they said: 'Your regrettable announcement of the UK's intention to recognise a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly has dramatically complicated efforts to bring home our loved ones.
'Hamas has already celebrated the UK's decision as a victory and reneged on a ceasefire deal. We write to you with a simple plea - do not take this step until our loved ones are home and in our arms.'

No lawsuit has been filed yet, so we will have to see what demands are ultimately made, but there is nothing secret about Abbas' desire to extract reparations from the UK. We can rest assured that nothing like £2 trillion will be transferred from Great Britain to Abbas' government, but it is easily foreseeable that if a lawsuit is filed, Britain will wind up paying a significant price for its idiocy.
Western liberal leaders fundamentally misunderstand who the Palestinians are. For some reason, they are capable of grasping that somebody like Putin doesn't share their vision of a conflict-free world, but they remain committed to the fantasy that Islamists are.
Coming from a figure who can deny and justify the Holocaust at the same time, nothing surprises me.https://t.co/z09EBdPT85

Liberals like Starmer genuinely believe they are working to make the world a better place, but until they recognize and adjust to reality on the ground, it is impossible to do so.
Think of the disconnect between the Batman and Superman approach to crime-fighting. Both are imaginary heroes, but Superman's ability to improve things depended on essentially magical abilities that could never exist in the real world. His approach is pure fantasy, even if it is enjoyable to imagine.

Batman's world is much darker. He is an extraordinary man who utilizes ordinary human powers to confront the more gritty realities of the world. While fictional, his world is rooted in reality, and his methods are darker because the real world is darker. It's why society's peacekeepers — the police — carry guns.
Technocrats see themselves as more Superman than Batman, which is why they always faceplant when they try to fly.
Trump is Batman. He sees reality as harsher and responds accordingly.
It would be grimly ironic if the new State of Palestine won a large award from Britain. Poetic justice, you might say.
It would also be a disaster both for Britain and the world. Imagine a Palestinian Authority armed to the teeth with Western weapons of war.
