Harvard alum says there are 'undisguised calls for the murder of Jews' on campus‚ calls for DOE to expand investigation

A Harvard alum has urged the U.S. Department of Education to broaden its investigation into the prestigious university's relaxed attitude toward pro-Palestinian protesters' "undisguised calls for the murder of Jews." The development comes after the president of the university is set to appear before Congress on Tuesday to give account of the apparent rise of anti-Semitism on campus. The accusations made against the university are based on concerns that the institution has not done enough to curb the surge in anti-Semitic rhetoric following Hamas' terrorist attack against the Jewish state in early October. Fox News Digital reported this comes after anti-Israel protesters called for violence against Jews a single day after the Department of Education announced its investigation.Harvard University President Claudine Gay recently came under fire by billionaire businessman Bill Ackman for choosing not to attend a screening of the atrocities committed against the Jewish state on October 7. Ackman said Gay has refused to show leadership on the topic‚ and he characterized her refusal to attend the screening as an "insult" to those who have been affected by the attack.Gay is set to appear before Congress on Tuesday to answer for why there has been a sudden rise of anti-Semitism on campus and why more has not been done to stifle the spread of anti-Semitic rhetoric. While the alum in question thanked the Office for Civil Rights' Boston chief attorney Kristi R. Harris for launching an investigation into the university‚ the alum suggested that the probe needed to be expanded. In a letter obtained by Fox News Digital‚ the alum wrote: "Harvard Hillel has reported that on November 29 — a day after OCR notified me (and‚ presumably‚ Harvard) that it had opened a Title VI investigation — Harvard College students ‘had classes disrupted by a coordinated protest using bullhorns to blast abhorrent antisemitic calls to "globalize the intifada‚" and demands for the elimination of the Jewish state "from the river to the sea."'"The alum went on to say that "both [statements] are undisguised calls for the murder of Jews and Israelis.""During the Second Intifada‚ for example‚ Palestinian terrorists murdered over 1‚000 Jews and Israelis‚ including through suicide-bomb attacks on buses and restaurants‚" the alum said. "And‚ as the House of Representatives recently acknowledged in a bipartisan resolution‚ ‘the phrase "from the river to the sea" … is widely recognized as a genocidal call to violence to destroy the state of Israel and its people to replace it with a Palestinian state extending from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea.'""To date‚ there has been no indication that Harvard has taken any action in response to these threats against Jews and Israelis‚" the letter goes on. "And it is inconceivable that Harvard would take such a laissez-faire attitude if similar threats were leveled against any other minority group on campus."Though Gay has claimed she is aware of the behavior and noted that something needed to be done about it‚ the alum said "her words so far have not been met with action. It is now time for the Department of Education to intervene."It is still unclear whether any of the protesters involved in the anti-Semitic calls for violence have been disciplined in any way or if there is a plan to do so by the university. US warship shoots down bomber drones amidst Houthi terrorist attack in the Red Sea

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis attacked three merchant vessels Sunday and directed drones toward an American warship‚ according to U.S. Central Command. Fortunately for the civilian ships‚ the USS Carney made quick work of destroying the enemy craft. Houthi forces‚ dropped from the list of foreign terrorist organizations by the Biden administration‚ have indicated that ships associated with Israel attempting to transit the Bab al-Mandeb strait constitute "legitimate" targets for additional attacks. This threat from Hamas' allies has far-reaching implications‚ especially since the strait‚ connecting the Gulf of Aden to the Red Sea‚ is one of the world's busiest shipping routes. The players CENTCOM indicated that there were four attacks Sunday against three different commercial vessels operating in international waters in the southern Red Sea. The ships targeted by the terrorists were the Unity Explorer‚ a bulk carrier sailing under the flag of the Bahamas‚ which CENTCOM indicated was British-owned but shipping site BalticShipping.com noted is owned by the Tel Aviv-based Ray Shipping; the Number 9‚ a Bermudan and British-owned container ship sailing under the Panamanian flag; and the Sophie II‚ another Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier with a multinational crew. According to the Associated Press‚ Houthis claimed responsibility for two of the attacks. Houthis are a Shia military group that was recognized by the Trump administration as a terrorist organization. They kicked off the Yemen civil war in 2014 when they seized the capital city of Sanaa and ousted the government. The Houthis presently control the western portion of the country‚ which hems the Red Sea. In President Joe Biden's first days in office‚ his administration removed the Houthis from the list of foreign terrorist organizations‚ to the satisfaction of the U.N. Houthi attacks have increase since the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks on Israel. For instance‚ on Nov. 26‚ two ballistic missiles fired from Houthi-controlled Yemen landed near the USS Mason. Rebels also seized the Liberian-flagged Central Park. Houthis have also launched anti-Israeli attacks in recent weeks "to help the Palestinians to victory‚" reported Reuters. The latest attacks At 9:15 a.m.‚ the USS Carney‚ an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer that had been patrolling international waters‚ detected an anti-ship ballistic missile attack fired from Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen toward the Unity Explorer‚ "impacting in the vicinity of the vessel." Roughly three hours after detecting the attack on the Unity Explorer‚ the USS Carney shot down an incoming Houthi drone. CENTCOM indicated that while the drone had been "headed toward CARNEY ... its specific target is not clear." It appears that was only the terrorists' opening salvo. Around 12:35 p.m.‚ the Unity Explorer was struck by another missile fired from Yemen. The attack‚ which resulted in minor damage‚ prompted a response from the USS Carney. While in the process of aiding the Unity Explorer with its danger assessment‚ the USS Carney detected another inbound drone. The warship quickly blasted the enemy craft to cinders. At 3:30 p.m.‚ the Number 9 container ship was hit by a missile‚ again from an area in Houthi-controlled Yemen. While it suffered damage‚ there were no casualties. The Sophie II issued a distress call around 4:30 p.m.‚ indicating it too had been struck by a missile. The damage was not significant and it appears there were no fatalities. The USS Carney responded to the distress call from the Sophie II. However‚ on its way to administer support‚ the warship encountered another drone headed its way‚ which it quickly shot out of the sky in self-defense. Responsibility and responses Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree‚ a spokesman for the Houthi terrorists‚ claimed responsibility for two of the four attacks‚ namely the first missile strike and the successful drone strike in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait‚ linking the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden‚ reported the Associated Press. "The Yemeni armed forces continue to prevent Israeli ships from navigating the Red Sea (and Gulf of Aden) until the Israeli aggression against our steadfast brothers in the Gaza Strip stops‚" said Saree. "The Yemeni armed forces renew their warning to all Israeli ships or those associated with Israelis that they will become a legitimate target if they violate what is stated in this statement." The Unity Explorer reportedly may have been targeted in part because the British firm has among its officers Dan David Ungar‚ a resident of Israel. CENTCOM stated‚ "These attacks represent a direct threat to international commerce and maritime security. They have jeopardized the lives of international crews representing multiple countries around the world." "We also have every reason to believe that these attacks‚ while launched by the Houthis in Yemen‚ are fully enabled by Iran‚" continued CENTCOM. "The United States will consider all appropriate responses in full coordination with its international allies." When missiles from Houthi-controlled territory were fired at American ships in 2016‚ the USS Nitze repaid the favor‚ atomizing three coastal radar sites in Houthi territory with cruise missiles. While Iran has not officially addressed the attacks‚ Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian indicated that "if the current situation continues‚ the region will enter a new phase‚" referring to Israel's war with Hamas terrorists. White House national security spokesman John Kirby indicated on Nov. 21 that the Biden administration is now considering "potential terrorist designations" for the Houthi forces over their "flagrant violation of international law‚" reported Reuters. White House tells Congress US nearly out of money to support Ukraine‚ pushes for $105 billion aid package

The Biden administration has pressured Congress to dole out tens of billions of dollars in military aid and economic assistance to Ukraine‚ insisting that the Eastern European country's effort to fend off Russia will collapse without it. The New York Post reported that Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young sent a letter to Senate and House leaders on Monday‚ saying that the U.S. will run out of money to support Ukraine by the end of the year. She went on to say that Ukraine's loss of U.S. support would hamstring the country's military effort.Biden has reportedly asked for a $105 billion aid package to support Ukraine‚ Israel‚ and other needs‚ but Capitol Hill has refused to make a quick decision. The aid package has been a topic of discussion since mid-October‚ but it has yet to be approved. There is not only a growing skepticism about the sheer amount of U.S. funding going toward Ukraine‚ but there are Republicans supportive of the package who want to designate financial assistance to the U.S.-Mexico border as a condition for pushing the aid package through. It appears that the U.S. is almost single-handedly keeping the Ukrainian economy above water. Congress has already sent $111 billion to help the Eastern European country‚ including $27 billion for economic and civil assistance‚ $10 billion for humanitarian aid‚ and a staggering $67 billion for military procurement. Young apparently said that all but just 3% of all the funds the U.S. provided was already depleted by the middle of November‚ according to the Associated Press. — (@) "We are out of money to support Ukraine in this fight‚" Young wrote‚ adding that "this isn't a next year problem. The time to help a democratic Ukraine fight against Russian aggression is right now. It is time for Congress to act."“Already‚ our packages of security assistance have become smaller and the deliveries of aid have become more limited‚” Young continued. “If our assistance stops‚ it will cause significant issues for Ukraine.”Young insisted that providing Ukraine with financial assistance is necessary to avoid a direct conflict with Russia. She reasoned that if Russia succeeds in Ukraine‚ it could attack a NATO country‚ which would trigger Article 5 of the NATO agreement. However‚ there is currently no timeline for how long the U.S. will have to continue shelling out taxpayer dollars to the Eastern European country. It is also unclear what a victory would look like for Ukraine.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Why Nikki Haley would be a disastrous choice for the GOP

Why Nikki Haley would be a disastrous choice for the GOP

It seems that former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is bounding ahead in a hypothetical matchup with Joe Biden. Although Haley has not been able to make significant headway against Republican front-runner Donald Trump‚ who is now polling over 60% as his party’s preferred presidential candidate in the primaries‚ Haley would beat Biden by the largest margin among active Republican candidates — possibly by as much as 10 points. According to RealClearPolitics‚ unlike Haley‚ Trump is running ahead of Biden by only about four percentage points. Given all the negative publicity that our former president has incurred over the last six years and given the mountain of legal difficulties under which he is now pinned‚ thanks to Biden’s Justice Department‚ his chances for re-election may be less promising than they look currently. Haley has been doing her publicity with massive assistance from the Republican-neoconservative establishment. The Wall Street Journal has all but endorsed her already. The New York Post and the rest of the Murdoch media empire can’t say enough nice things about her. In fact‚ they can’t mention her without lapsing into spasms of rapture while railing against Trump. If Haley does win the nomination‚ it would leave an enormous number of Americans who identify themselves as populists without a political home. I recently listened to a conversation on Fox News between former U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Republican consultant Karl Rove. It was hard to tell which mood was more dominant in this animated conversation: profound loathing for Trump or blissful adoration of Haley. The two dispositions usually coexist in Haley’s fans‚ who view her as the top-drawer candidate for anti-Trump Republicans. Dan McCarthy has described her as the “new John McCain” — a candidate who combines a circumspect‚ even equivocal position on most social issues with an unabashedly interventionist foreign policy. This is undoubtedly part of the reason Haley resonates with her constituency. All the same‚ her support from the corporate press as the “moderate” Republican could lead to a possible replay of McCain’s frustrated presidential bid. The media could easily turn on Haley if she wins the GOP nomination‚ exactly as they did with her neocon precursor in 2008. The establishment’s interest here may be nothing more than using a “moderate” to move political discussions toward the left. Once Haley has served that purpose‚ the media will go after her as yet another “MAGA extremist.” Even more ominously‚ Haley’s candidacy and her support from the usual suspects look like an attempt to derail the GOP’s populist turn. It is clearly aimed at undoing critical changes in our party politics that have occurred in the last few years and moving us back to something like the neoconservative ascendancy of the George W. Bush era. The coup is being engineered with noticeable support from socially liberal business tycoons and Democratic donors who support a neocon foreign policy coupled with corporate tax cuts. (What else is new?) Haley’s campaign is starting to look like a takeover by wealthy members of the center left. It's also hard not to notice that Haley has spent years giving herself a biographical and ideological makeover. Although she started out politically as a white Southern Evangelical of Indian ancestry‚ in recent years‚ she has dwelled on her traumatic youth as “a little brown girl” whose Sikh father wore a turban and tried to preserve his Indian identity. Haley also went from honoring her South Carolina background to more recently criticizing her one-time white neighbors as bigots. (Ironically‚ those white neighbors belonged to the group that gave her a majority of their votes.) Haley also made a reputation for herself among the national media in 2015 when she signed a bill removing the Confederate battle flag from statehouse grounds in Columbia‚ presumably to make us all feel “more comfortable.” That‚ too‚ might have been a career move while Haley was positioning herself as a multicultural candidate who is big on “national defense” but who wants to dialogue with the left on divisive social questions. If Haley does win the nomination‚ which still seems unlikely‚ it would leave an enormous number of Americans who identify themselves as populists without a political home. And it would be an attempted comeback by an establishment that was emphatically repudiated in 2016 but that still enjoys considerable media and financial clout. As an added liability‚ this restoration seems to depend more and more on voters from the left who are joining the Republican establishment and its media boosters in promoting a “moderate” candidate. One doesn’t have to like Donald Trump (and I personally don’t) to know this game could end badly. Trump is clearly favored by the majority of his party. Even if this situation changed‚ the populist direction of his party would be fixed. Efforts to undo that development by pushing a candidate who doesn’t line up with most of the party base seems like a recipe for disaster. Perhaps Haley’s fans could be persuaded to start their own party and stop trying to outmaneuver the Republican base.

Dana White: 'This is the greatest country on earth. And we should be defending it‚ fighting for our freedom‚ every one of us.'

Dana White‚ the outspoken head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship‚ is making headlines for a pro-America rant he delivered on the “Full Send Podcast."What are the details? While the podcast interview posted on YouTube last week covered a variety of subjects‚ White turned heads when he was asked about his opinion that the younger generation coming up is weak.White acknowledged that every generation typically believes that the one coming after it is "soft‚" but he was quick to add that the current generation is "next-level.""There's no respect for the police any more‚ there's no respect for the military‚ there's no respect for our country‚ our freedom‚ our way of life that we have here‚" White said.He then lit into Americans who threaten to leave the country if things don't go their way politically — and gave them a brutal reality check: You can sit around and ... nitpick and talk about things that are wrong with the United States. Let me tell you something: I'm gonna tell f***ing your generation‚ my generation‚ everybody's generation — this is it. If this falls‚ there's no other f***ing place to go. So all these f***ing people that are like‚ 'Oh‚ God‚ if President Trump wins‚ I'm f***ing leaving the country.' They all say it! They all say it! Nobody f***ing does it. Where you gonna go? Nowhere. All these other f***ing places that you think are f***ing cool and you think are so f***ing great‚ when the s**t hits the fan‚ you find out who’s who and what’s what. ... Gang‚ this is it. So all the people ... marching and crying and protesting ... this is the greatest country on earth. And we should be defending it‚ fighting for our freedom‚ every one of us. ... Everybody’s afraid to stand up. Everybody’s afraid to be pro-American. ... Some of these other countries ... the people who live there are proud of where they come from. They carry their flag; they stand up. ... You talk about people coming over the border from Mexico for a better life in America‚ right? Show me a Mexican that doesn’t love his country and isn’t proud to be a Mexican. Wake up. Wake up. This is the greatest country …White then wondered rhetorically‚ "So if we go to war right now‚ are you confident in this generation that we have right now that these guys are gonna go out and storm some beach somewhere?" He added that "there’s a small handful of people — most of them probably down around the Bible belt and down South — that’ll actually stand up and fight for this country right now. It’s scary."Here's the clip. Content warning: Language: Dana White on Dillon Danis Fighting in the UFC and Kyle’s UFC Date! youtu.be Like Blaze News?
