Russiagate hoaxers beg Congress to preserve intelligence agencies' ability to spy on Americans without warrants

Former intelligence officials among the cabal of Russiagate hoaxers who sought to discredit the New York Post's damning Hunter Biden laptop story ahead of the 2020 election are now begging Congress to reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. The former officials' history of misleading the American people has prompted critics to doubt the value of their latest recommendation. On Monday‚ 46 former intelligence officials signed a letter to the House speaker‚ majority leader‚ and minority leader‚ pleading for them to renew Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Additionally‚ they denounced Arizona Republican Rep. Andy Biggs' Protect Liberty and End Warrantless Surveillance Act‚ which would reform Section 702 and require a warrant for all U.S. person searches. Section 702 of FISA enables the government to spy on non-Americans without first obtaining a warrant. The FBI admitted earlier this year to using Section 702 to target American citizens roughly 278‚000 times in 2021 alone. This law was also exploited by the FBI to spy on members of the Trump campaign in 2016 without probable cause. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) indicated in a Blaze News piece this week that "backdoor searches under FISA 702 are carried out without any of the safeguards created to protect life‚ liberty‚ and property from the kind of harm that an unrestrained government is uniquely capable of inflicting." Among the signatories of the Dec. 11 letter calling for the renewal of Section 702 through the National Defense Authorization Act were: James Clapper‚ former director of national intelligence under Obama; Glenn S. Gerstell‚ former general counsel for the National Security Agency; Richard H. Ledgett Jr.‚ former deputy director of the NSA; Jeremy Bash‚ the former chief of staff both of the CIA and the Department of Defense; and Michael Morell‚ former acting director of the CIA. These individuals also happened to sign the Oct. 19‚ 2020‚ letter entitled‚ "Public Statement on the Hunter Biden Emails." Their 2020 letter asserted that the Hunter Biden laptop story and the evidence it discussed were likely all an utter fabrication — that the story had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation." While willing to admit in the letter to not knowing whether the Hunter Biden emails provided to the New York Post were "genuine" and having no "evidence of Russian involvement‚" Clapper and his cosignatories suggested a "laptop op" designed "to discredit Biden ... would be consistent with some of the key methods Russia has used in its now multi-year operation to interfere in our democracy." Then-candidate Joe Biden used the misleading letter to great effect‚ referencing it in the final presidential debate with former President Donald Trump on Oct. 22‚ 2020. Contrary to the expert opinion of the intelligence partisans‚ the Hunter Biden laptop and its contents — allegedly verified by the FBI as early as 2019 — were ultimately recognized by the Washington Post‚ New York Times‚ and other mainstream outfits as real and as the property of the first son. However‚ this inadvertent acknowledgment that the former intelligence officials were hacks did not occur until well after Biden secured the White House. While five of the Russiagate hoaxers‚ evidently unashamed of their last epistolary collaboration‚ certainly signed the pro-FISA imploration to Congress‚ there may be greater overlap among the signatories‚ as the infamous "intel" letter was also supported by nine unnamed former intelligence community officers. Their Dec. 11 letter asserts that "Section 702 saves American lives and helps keep Americans safe from international terrorist attacks‚ foreign cyberattacks‚ overseas fentanyl suppliers‚ and other threats to our national security." The letter denounces Biggs' proposed reforms to Section 702‚ suggesting they would "prohibit queries that have kept our nation safe"; "undermine cybersecurity efforts"; and grant "unprecedented rights to foreigners." The Protect Liberty and End Warrantless Surveillance Act‚ introduced on Dec. 4‚ has strong bipartisan support. "Substantial reforms to FISA are long overdue‚ and we commend Chairman Biggs for his steadfast commitment to reining in unchecked surveillance of Americans‚" said House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio). Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler (N.Y.) said‚ "No government agency or surveillance program is free to evade the requirements of the Fourth Amendment‚ and Section 702 as it currently exists does just that. This sweeping‚ bipartisan package of reforms aims to bring these programs back in line with our values and also keep Americans safe from those who seek to do us harm." "This legislation prohibits the government from purchasing Americans' data from big tech companies without a search warrant and adds needed warrant requirements to Section 702 of FISA. Our Constitution is not for sale and the right to privacy must be protected‚" said Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio). Like Blaze News? Security supervisor at California high school partnered with student to sell homemade bombs over Instagram

A campus security supervisor at a California high school has admitted in court that he and a student worked together to make homemade bombs and sell them on social media. On Monday‚ Angelo Jackson Mendiver‚ 27‚ pled guilty to conspiring to engage in manufacturing and dealing in explosive materials and mailing explosive devices‚ said a press release from the U.S. District Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of California. Mendiver also pled guilty to making false statements to FBI agents.According to federal prosecutors‚ Mendiver had partnered with "a male juvenile Bakersfield high school student" to acquire explosive materials‚ use those materials to construct bombs‚ and then peddle those bombs over Instagram. The two would then mail the bombs to purchasers in different states.Mendiver and the juvenile didn't use Instagram just to communicate with clients. They also apparently used it to communicate with each other. In one message‚ Mendiver sent the young man a picture of titanium salute — described in the press release as "an explosive device" — and two videos of other explosives. The message also contained the statement "homemade kills all consumer."On June 1‚ federal authorities raided Mendiver's Bakersfield home‚ where they confiscated "approximately 500 pounds of explosives and explosive materials." A raid on the juvenile's residence similarly yielded "another 500 pounds of explosives and explosive materials‚" the press release stated.Mendiver faces a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million. He is scheduled to be sentenced in April. The press release referred to Mendiver as a campus security supervisor at Arvin High School‚ but the New York Post described Mendiver as a "former" high school security guard. The Post did not indicate when Mendiver may have quit or been terminated.Arvin High School is located in Arvin‚ California‚ about 20 miles southeast of Bakersfield. Whether the juvenile suspect has ever attended Arvin High School and whether he has been charged in the case are both unclear. The Kern School District did not respond to the Post's request for comment.Just a few weeks ago‚ 44-year-old Arvin High School shop teacher Michael Parra was arrested on campus after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student. A report about that arrest can be seen below: Arvin teacher pleads not guilty to sex with minor www.youtube.com Like Blaze News? Nurses can listen to podcasts about 'racism‚' 'health equity' to earn credit hours: American Nurses Association

Nurses can earn free credit hours by listening to a bundle of podcasts about "racism‚" "health equity‚" and "activism" promoted by the American Nurses Association‚ the Daily Caller News Foundation was the first report Tuesday.A Tuesday X post from the ANA encourages nurses to listen to its "curated podcast bundles" that each offer free continuing nursing education credits."This holiday season‚ give yourself the gift of up to 28 complimentary #CNE credits with SEVEN exciting #SeeYouNow #podcast bundles (worth four contact hours each). Explore our bundles and register for one or all at no cost!" the ANA's post stated. This holiday season‚ give yourself the gift of up to 28 complimentary #CNE credits with SEVEN exciting #SeeYouNow #podcast bundles (worth four contact hours each). Explore our bundles and register for one or all at no cost! https://t.co/jnSpCGPNrj #NurseTwitter #ANAInnovation — (@) The recently promoted package includes a number of episodes from the "See You Now" podcast‚ created by Johnson &; Johnson and the ANA. The latest bundle includes episodes covering "Nurses Inspiring Nurses‚" "Advocacy to Activism‚" "Rooting Out Racism in Health Care‚" "Primary Care Access‚" "Focus on Health Equity‚" "Focus on Mental Health‚" and "Technology and Data-Driven Care."The ANA's "Rooting Out Racism in Heath Care" bundle includes stories from "innovative nurses … describ[ing] how they are taking action by creating and implementing strategies to address racism in health care.""You will be exposed to how you can help make health care equitable‚ inclusive‚ and safe for all individuals‚" the podcast's description states. One of the bundle's episodes states that the health care industry's workforce is "far from diverse‚ representative of our population‚ or a reflection of our communities and the people we care for.""And that is problematic. This representation pipeline problem takes root early on in our educational settings‚" the episode description adds.Nurses who listen to the podcasts will learn how to "address racism in health care" and achieve a greater "awareness of how equity‚ diversity‚ and inclusion can positively impact patient outcomes."The "Advocacy to Activism" bundle features the podcast episodes "A Vote for Moms' Health" and "Ready to Vote?" It also includes "Planetary Health Healers‚" an episode on "the impact of climate change on people's health and livelihoods‚ as well as its disruption to the ability of our health care systems to respond."Listeners will learn how to "identify relevant components related to health equity‚" "explore current strategies in place to address healthcare inequities‚" and "examine various methods to engage in advocacy and activism."A separate podcast bundle offered by the organization teaches nurses about "Affirming Care‚" the DCNF reported."We take a close up look at how the COVID-19 pandemic exposed disparities in access to care that landed far more heavily on vulnerable communities. This is especially true for the Transgender community which has been uniquely affected by the pandemic in terms of access to gender-affirming care‚" the episode description reads.According to the ANA‚ "racism is a substantial problem with the profession‚" the organization posted on X Tuesday. "Survey reveals that nearly half of nurses witness a lot of racism in nursing‚ with 63% personally experiencing it."Do No Harm program manager Laura Morgan told the DCNF‚ "Here we are with more of the same propaganda from the ANA‚ but this time they are the beneficiaries of funding from a major health care corporation.""'See You Now' is touted as an 'innovation podcast‚' but what is innovative about pushing politicized ideologies? The ANA uses the podcast to continue peddling its self-flagellating Racial Reckoning Statement‚ in which they say their actions 'have caused harm and perpetuated systemic racism‚'" Morgan stated. "The ANA is free to say what it wants to about itself‚ but count me out of its attempts to impose this nonsense onto the rest of the profession‚" Morgan continued. "While it began with a valid call for ideas from nurses to address complex issues that affect health care‚ 'See You Now' soon deteriorated into a celebration of 'the latest thing' in the social justice arena. There is no professional development value to this podcast."Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors‚ sign up for our newsletters‚ and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Lawmaker warns Israel will face the 'wrath of Allah' — then he immediately falls to floor with heart attack

A Turkish lawmaker had a heart attack on Tuesday immediately after calling on Allah to bring his wrath on Israel. Hasan Bitmez‚ a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey‚ was delivering a speech on the budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when he called down the wrath of Allah to strike Israel. "Even if history remains silent‚ the truth will not remain silent. They think that if they get rid of us‚ there will be no problem‚" Bitmez said‚ according to a translation of his speech. "However‚ if you get rid of us‚ you will not be able to escape the torment of conscience. Even if you escape the torment of history‚ you will not be able to escape the wrath of Allah." — (@) Immediately after he finished speaking‚ Bitmez collapsed to the floor of the parliamentary building after experiencing a heart attack. People quickly rushed to Bitmez's side‚ and Dr. Turhan Çömez‚ a fellow member of Parliament and a trained surgeon‚ performed CPR on Bitmez‚ which means that Bitmez's heart stopped beating. First responders carried him out of the assembly hall on a stretcher as Dr. Çömez continued lifesaving measures. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital. Bizmet on the floor of the National Assembly. (ADEM ALTAN/AFP via Getty Images)Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca later provided an update on Bitmez's health."During angiography‚ it was seen that two main veins were completely blocked‚ and after the intervention did not yield any results‚ he was connected to a heart-lung pump‚" Koca said‚ according to the BBC. "He is now vital with a heart-lung pump."He remains in "extremely critical and serious" condition‚ Koca added.Bizmet is a member of the Felicity Party‚ which promotes Islamist ideology. The party is critical of Turkey's ruling party for taking a "moderate" stance on the Israel-Hamas war‚ according to the Jerusalem Post. Bitmez‚ specifically‚ is critical of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's response to the conflict. Like Blaze News? Bill Gates and Mastercard are testing vaccine passports in Africa. Is the US next?

Bill Gates and Mastercard are testing vaccine passports in Africa. Is the US next?

The Bill Gates-backed Gavi‚ also known as the Vaccine Alliance‚ Mastercard‚ and NGOs in the fintech space have been trialing a digital vaccine passport in Africa called the Wellness Pass. Africa has long been a testing ground for Big Pharma to test drugs and programs far from the prying eyes of journalists and regulators. This passport‚ touted as a handy way to track patients in “underserved communities” across “multiple touchpoints‚” is part of a grouping of consumer-facing Mastercard products aimed ostensibly at roping people into a cashless digital ID system that simultaneously automates compliance with prescribed pharmaceutical regimens and fosters dependency on at least one ideologically captive non-governmental entity. Gavi‚ the leading partner and “catalyst” for the initiative‚ and Mastercard‚ “acting in the capacity of technology partner‚” rolled out pilots of the Wellness Pass in Mauritania and Ethiopia under the banner of “efficiently delivering vaccines to millions of children‚ tracking identity and immunization records in a digitized manner and incentivizing the delivery of vaccines.” Gavi‚ originally the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization‚ has historically provided children in the third world with non-mRNA vaccinations. But its reputation and reach in relatively unregulated regions — where it has worked in recent years to limit big pharmaceutical companies’ financial risk regarding COVID-19 vaccine injuries — are now being exploited to provide cover for experimentation by Western technocrats and corporate giants. Brazen efforts to exploit the COVID-19 pandemic in pursuit of greater power and a “new normal” have sadly cast doubt on purportedly altruistic endeavors such as this‚ already suspect in a region long used by pharmaceutical companies and other outfits as a sandbox for treacherous experiments. Bill Gates’ apparent keenness to usher in a future where digital passport stamps attesting to dutiful acceptance of vaccines — including those of the kind he’s hawkish on developing in Africa — has increased suspicions that the initiative is a foretaste of efforts stateside to curb God-given freedoms. Besides pledging more than $1.8 billion to Gavi between 2021 and June of this year‚ the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has bankrolled other similar efforts. For instance‚ the foundation helped fund the World Health Organization’s 2021 “Digital Documentation of COVID-19 Certificates: Vaccination Status” guidance‚ which discussed the deployment of a vaccine passport “solution to address the immediate needs of the pandemic but also to build digital health infrastructure that can be a foundation for digital vaccination certificates beyond COVID-19.” It’s worth noting that the Gates Foundation provides the WHO with nearly as much financing as the U.S. government yearly. The Gates Foundation also recently funded research into biocompatible near-infrared quantum dots indicating vaccination status‚ applied to the skin with microneedles. One needn’t be a biblical scholar to draw a parallel with the mark of the beast. Despite its potentially nefarious applications‚ the Wellness Pass is thankfully not another Gates tattoo. Instead‚ more in line with the passport discussed in the WHO guidance‚ it is a chip card that stores a patient’s vaccine history offline. According to Gavi‚ the pass‚ which appears to have outlived IBM’s Digital Health Pass and has the potential to give the World Economic Forum’s CommonPass app a run for its money‚ ensures that “vaccination records are available at any time through participating health facilities‚ regardless of connectivity‚ and utilizes tokenized biometrics when accepted‚ or alternatively a pin‚ to verify service delivery and adhere to vaccination cycles.” The card is reportedly linked to a phone number so that jab appointment reminders can be sent. During the pandemic‚ both in blue states and increasingly unfree Anglo nations like Australia and Canada‚ we saw vaccine receipts and QR codes become necessary to travel and use various facilities. On the one hand‚ Gavi and the world’s second-largest payment processing corporation are working to ensure human test subjects are up to date on their vaccines. On the other hand‚ Africans appear to be unwittingly helping them beta-test improved biometric systems of control for potential deployment farther afield. Already‚ bit players involved in the project have made the logical progression from the Sahara to the States. For instance‚ the AI-powered biometric company Trust Stamp helped incorporate its digital identification tech into the Wellness Pass system early on‚ then turned its focus stateside‚ developing applications for the American prison industry. Gareth Genner‚ co-founder of Trust Stamp‚ said something revealing in a 2020 interview with Mastercard. Genner suggested that the hope for this technology was that “anyone in the world can say‚ ‘This is who I am and these are what my needs are.’” The Wellness Pass similarly conveys identifying information and needs through what it does not say: This is what I am not; ergo these are what needs I can be denied. During the pandemic‚ both in blue states and increasingly unfree Anglo nations like Australia and Canada‚ we saw vaccine receipts and QR codes become necessary to travel and use various facilities. Those without these prototypic vaccine passports often saw their liberties and horizons drastically limited. An Americanized Wellness Pass‚ even if adopted with the pseudo-anonymized hash system used in Africa‚ would grant authorities similar limiting potential as before‚ along with a far better sense of where there were pockets of dissent‚ where they had to propagandize‚ and where there were arms yet unjabbed. Besides helping to further shape behavior‚ flush out vaccine resistance‚ and medicalize society‚ such an infrastructure as Mastercard provides could lay the groundwork for the kinds of digital credentialing systems Americans have been otherwise resistive to. Alisdair Haythornthwaite‚ senior vice president of thought leadership and policy communications at Mastercard‚ told USA Today in 2020‚ “There is nothing about this solution that means someone who doesn’t get vaccinated won’t get money or food.” Sure‚ that might have been true of Wellness Pass as deployed in Mauritania‚ but time will tell what Western systems informed by these African pilot programs might ultimately accomplish in the way of prohibitions in the name of public health‚ climate correction‚ countering extremism‚ and so forth. Forgive my skepticism about the beneficence of behemothic corporations‚ but it’s not hard to imagine soon being required to produce a Wellness Pass simply to pass go.

Harvard president in hot water AGAIN – this time for allegations related to plagiarizing her PhD thesis!

In the wake of her unapologetically anti-Semitic testimony during the congressional hearings that took place on December 5‚ Dr. Claudine Gay has decided to continue serving as Harvard’s president. However‚ more and more are calling for her to step down as news about her allegedly plagiarized thesis spreads. Christopher Rufo‚ an American conservative activist who works with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis‚ “has uncovered a massive scandal as it relates to Ms. Gay‚” says Dave Rubin. Just a few days ago‚ Rufo blew the lid off of what appears to be flagrant misconduct related to Dr. Gay’s Ph.D. thesis: On December 10‚ he tweeted: According to their investigation‚ Dr. Gay is allegedly guilty of a number of violations of Harvard’s own academic policies‚ including: “[Lifting] an entire paragraph nearly verbatim from a paper by Lawrence Bobo and Franklin Gilliam‚ while passing it off as her own paraphrase and language … as well as passages from Richard Shingles‚ Susan Howell‚ and Deborah Fagan‚ which she reproduces nearly verbatim‚ without quotation marks.” “[Lifting] material from scholar Carol Swain … [copying] the phrasing and language nearly verbatim from Swain’s book ‘Black Faces‚ Black Interests‚’ without providing a citation of any kind.” “[Composing] an entire appendix in the dissertation directly taken from Gary King’s book‚ ‘A Solution to the Ecological Inference Problem.’ While she cites King’s book later in the appendix … Gay does not explicitly acknowledge that Appendix B is entirely grounded in King’s concepts and language‚ instead passing it off as her own original work.” Rufo notes that these are “flagrant violations of Harvard’s plagiarism policy‚ which states that students who commit plagiarism will suffer ‘disciplinary action‚’ up to and including requirement to withdraw from the college.” Rufo wasn’t the only one to find dirt in Gay’s academic past‚ however. On December 11‚ Washington Free Beacon writer Aaron Sibarium tweeted: According to Sibarium‚ “nearly a dozen scholars” analyzed “29 potential cases of plagiarism‚ [and] most of them said Gay had violated a core principle of academic integrity plus Harvard’s own anti-plagiarism policies.” Given that Gay “can't figure out whether calling for genocide is against the bullying and harassment policy of her school” and the fact that “Harvard has discriminated against Jews and white people and Asian people … you might start thinking‚ 'Have they hired the best and brightest?'” says Dave. Add that to the fact that she may be in serious violation of Harvard’s academic policies‚ and it’s easy to see that Dr. Claudine Gay is a problematic leader on many levels. Trump adviser's legal group hits IBM with federal civil rights complaint over race-based hiring practices

An anti-woke legal group run by former Trump adviser Stephen Miller filed a federal civil rights complaint Tuesday against IBM‚ noting that there is reason to believe the New York-based tech corporation "knowingly and intentionally violated federal law" by discriminating on the basis of sex and race. Investigative reporter James O'Keefe shared a video to X Monday wherein IBM CEO Arvind Krishna and other IBM executives can be seen detailing penalties‚ including termination‚ for leaders who fail to sufficiently hire on the basis of race and sex. Miller's group‚ America First Legal‚ cited this video in its complaint to the EEOC‚ indicating that the comments expressed in the video by Krishna and Paul Cormier‚ chairman of IBM subsidiary Red Hat — and the company's corresponding hiring and procurement practices — contravened Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This complaint comes just weeks after IBM suspended its ads on X on the basis of disputed claims from the leftist activist outfit Media Matters‚ now being sued for defamation. IBM claimed at the time it "has zero tolerance for hate speech and discrimination." A policy of discrimination The video shared by O'Keefe Monday‚ apparently recorded in 2021 and shared by a company insider‚ appears to show Krishna and Cormier admitting to denying workers bonuses and canning executives for failing to discriminate against prospective hires. "I'm very clear about this. I expect at the executive level‚ so that is not just my directs‚ but all executives in the company‚ have to move forward by 1% on both underrepresented minorities‚" said Krishna. "Let me say it: Asians in the U.S. are not an underrepresented minority in a tech company. However‚ others are. Ditto on gender diversity." "So we take underrepresented and gender. You've got to move both forward by a percentage‚" the IBM chief executive says in the video. "That leads to a plus on your bonus." "By the way‚ if you lose‚ you lose part of your bonus‚" Krishna continues. "Paul [Cormier is] held to the same standards. Paul and I have been working together to say‚ 'Okay‚ how do we apply those deeper into the organization?'" Later in the video‚ Krishna can be heard noting the company's preferred racial and sexual demographics. Cormier said that "multiple leaders over the last year plus that were held accountable to the point that they're no longer here at Red Hat ... because they weren't willing to live up to the [DEI] standards that we set in this space." — (@) The complaint AFL noted in its letter to EEOC acting Director Timothy Riera‚ "Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits IBM from discriminating against an employee or an applicant for employment because of race‚ color‚ religion‚ sex‚ or national origin[.] ... However‚ the evidence is that IBM is knowingly‚ intentionally‚ and systematically engaging in such unlawful employment practices." "Krishna‚ Cormier‚ and others in management have embedded immoral and unlawful employment practices into the corporation's culture‚" the letter alleged. Extra to referencing the 2021 leaked footage‚ AFL cited IBM's 2022 ESG report and the company's race-based "Supplier Diversity program" as further evidence of discrimination. The ESG report detailed the company's "diversity-linked executive compensation" scheme‚ which links executives' compensation to their ability to hire candidates with preferred immutable characteristics‚ specifically women‚ black people‚ and Hispanics. The supplier program seeks to prioritize building relationships with "businesses owned and operated by minorities‚ women‚ lesbian and gay‚ veterans‚ and service disabled veterans‚ and disabled persons." The company's 2022 ESG report notes that "IBM has committed to dedicating 15% of our first-tier supplier diversity spending to Black-owned businesses by 2025." AFL requested the EEOC use its discretionary powers to file a "commissioner charge" against IBM and its subsidiary Red Hat. AFL also penned a letter Tuesday to Krishna‚ highlighting IBM's alleged unlawful employment practices‚ unlawful contracting practices‚ and waste and breach of fiduciary duty. Gene Hamilton‚ AFL vice president and general counsel‚ said in a statement‚ "Apparently‚ based on the video and the publicly available material on its website‚ the senior leadership at IBM is wholly committed to discriminating against Americans as a matter of formal corporate policy. This cannot stand." Bloomberg Law‚ which indicated AFL may be setting the groundwork for the legal work of a second Trump administration with this and other initiatives‚ noted that IBM hadn't responded to a request for comment.
