The next era of Megan Moroney. This morning, she announced her next single “6 Months Later” will be bout everywhere next Friday, June 20th, and it’s a song she’s been teasing a lot lately that fans already love, so I’m sure it’s going to be a big ‘ol hit. @megmoroneywhat doesn’t kill u always callssssss ♬ 6 Months Later – Megan Moroney She has yet to officially announce her third album, but she’s recently talked about how it’s 80% done, and it will be much more “light and carefree and happy” than her previous two projects: “I’m always writing. I mean, I would say that my next album is probably like 80% written. I just try to live my life and write about it. So that’s kind of how this next album is shaping up, too. Just like the last ones — I was writing about my life experiences. So the strategy behind it hasn’t changed. It’s still the same.” “6 Months Later” details how a relationship went sideways… though the guy keeps popping back up every now and then when she’s just about over it… classic. Like many of her songs, it focuses on heartbreak and how she’s coping in the wake of a breakup, and I think her caption on the video “What doesn’t kill you always calls” probably sums it up just about right: “Let me set you the scene November circa 2019 Put a hole in my heart Watched it bleed You said that we were better off strangers I was barely alive, out of 6 feet deep I was 5 Pretty sure they called a hearse outside Okay, that’s dramatic But I survived, then I survived” It appears as though the next album will also feature a new signature color, much like her debut Lucky was all about green and her 2024 sophomore album Am I Okay? was all blue. She appears in the single cover now in a pretty lavender color, which leads me to believe MM3 will be purple coded and very pastel.
