Gov. Ron DeSantis Says Run Over Anti-ICE Rioters If Needed

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is not playing any games when it comes to anti-ICE rioters attempting to take over U.S. streets. In a recent podcast interview with Dave Rubin, DeSantis shared that if rioters surround your car and they are making threats at you, then you have a right to drive away. DeSantis added, if you end up hitting a rioter while fleeing, then they had it coming. Per Yahoo News: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) assured drivers in his state they will not be held liable if they hit protesters blocking roadways when they are fearful for their lives. “If you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety, and so if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that’s their fault for impinging on you,” DeSantis told podcaster Dave Rubin in an episode of “The Rubin Report” released Wednesday night. “You don’t have to sit there and just be a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets.” “You have a right to defend yourself in Florida,” he added. The Florida Republican spent much of the discussion with Rubin focused on protests that have rocked Los Angeles and other major cities in response to President Trump’s immigration crackdown. Some demonstrators in New York City, Chicago and elsewhere have created traffic jams as part of their anti-Immigrations and Customs Enforcement efforts. DeSantis, who is term-limited and unsuccessfully sought the GOP’s presidential nomination against Trump in 2024, touted past work from law enforcement in Florida to quickly disperse crowds that have attempted to block roadways. “You have no right to commandeer streets,” DeSantis said. “First of all, it’s just wrong; second of all, that has huge impacts on people’s quality of life.” “We have an absolutely zero tolerance policy for that,” he added. In Los Angeles, an anti-ICE rioter was seen running in front of an ICE vehicle while it was driving. Take a look: In case you were curious. ICE running over this idiot protestor is what triggered tonight’s chaos. Maybe you shouldn’t get in front of a moving SUV next time. pic.twitter.com/NS5wpdc66y — QE Infinity (@StealthQE4) June 8, 2025 Per LA Taco: An unidentified protester who put his body on the line to prevent a white SUV full of more than a dozen detainees from being driven away was knocked down by the driver of the truck as he attempted to stop it. The event happened at around 2 PM and was broadcast on both KTLA and ABC as federal agents detained more than a dozen workers at Ambiance Apparel. This massive apparel company boasts being one of the largest West Coast suppliers of fashion resources to retailers worldwide, with a branch in China as well. Instagram users are already flooding the company’s Instagram with comments denouncing the raid. The mass raid was just one of many reported to take place today in Los Angeles. Earlier today, a northeast Los Angeles-based Instagram account posted a video showing more than a dozen armed agents walking up the sidewalk at The Home Depot, located at 2055 N. Figueroa St. More than a dozen migrants were reportedly detained there. ABC News confirmed this second raid earlier in the day. The raid was documented by helicopters, much like broadcast news covers live pursuits.
