SYFY’s latest show Revival, an adaptation of the comic by Tim Seeley and Mike Norton that stars Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp, Strange New Worlds) premiered on the network last night.
If you’re curious about the show and want to check it out, but missed its airing, I’ve got good news for you: SYFY currently has the first full episode, “Don’t Tell Dad,” up on their YouTube channel, available for anyone to watch at their leisure.
Here’s the official synopsis for the show, which should sound familiar to readers of the comic:
On one miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly rise from their graves. But this is no zombie story as the “revived” appear and act just like they once were. When local Officer and single mother Dana Cypress (Scrofano) is unexpectedly thrown into the center of a brutal murder mystery of her own, she’s left to make sense of the chaos amidst a town gripped by fear and confusion where everyone, alive or undead, is a suspect.
Based on an interview I had with co-showrunners Luke Boyce and Aaron B. Koontz, the TV series will also surprise those who know the source material. “I think when people get to the end of season one, they’re going to be like, ‘Whoa! Wait a minute! What are we doing here?’” Boyce told me.
Ready to be surprised and/or see Scrofano kick ass? Check out the first full episode of Revival below.[end-mark]
