Kapur was the chairman of global auto parts company Sona Comstar and a prominent figure in both British polo circles and Indian high society. He had just posted condolences for victims of an Air India plane crash hours before his death. Kapur was known to frequently play polo with Prince William and was well-connected to the UK royal circle. Medical experts noted that internal bee stings can be deadly due to airway swelling and cardiac complications. His company released a tribute, calling him a “visionary leader” who shaped its success. Tributes poured in from friends and associates, including author Suhel Seth. Kapur was previously married to Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor; they had a contentious divorce in 2016 with public accusations. He remarried in 2017 to model Priya Sachdev; they had a son in 2018.
