Benson Boone Does His Signature Backflip In A Rather Unexpected Location
Benson Boone’s first hit song came out in 2021. That said, the past year has been especially exciting for this former American Idol contestant. His viral song Beautiful Things continues to broaden his fanbase. Now, he can be seen performing in all sorts of amazing venues. No matter where he’s at, there is always one thing you can count on: Benson Boone will be doing a backflip.
This popular singer does so many backflips, in fact, that it’s very possible this is how you came to know of him. No matter if he’s putting on a personal concert or performing on SNL, he can’t stop showing off this amazing skill. Most recently, he did a backflip in a place you wouldn’t expect it, even for Boone. You may be wondering: How did Benson Boone start doing so many backflips? Turns out, the origin is rather wholesome. According to a recent interview, it was his dad who first inspired him to try out the move.
Benson Boone’s History of Doing Backflips is Much More Wholesome Than You Likely Think
“I saw him do a backflip at a family barbecue,” Boone explains. “He did it off the neighbor’s balcony, and I was like ‘Hell yeah, dad, I’m gonna try that.’ And I was like four, so I just sent one off my couch, and it actually went surprisingly well.”

But how did Boone get the inspiration to bring his backflips to the stage? According to Boone, he had no idea how to entertain a crowd when he was still new to performing. So, mid-performance, he thought of a tried and true method of entertaining folks: By doing a sick backflip. Much to his surprise, people absolutely loved it — and so the rest is history.
Enjoy the backflips while you can! Boone warns that, while he enjoys them, it’s not a trick that will stick around forever.
“Hopefully someday,” Boone says about putting an end to the backflips. “I don’t think I want to do backflips forever, you know?”
