Teacher Stays Late To Work On Report Cards & Overhears Janitor’s “Gorgeous” Singing
When fourth-grade teacher Amy stayed late working on report cards, the janitor forgot she was in the building. While cleaning the bathroom, the janitor was singing a song with a remarkably melodic voice. The echoing sound quality of the small room makes it sound even more amazing. Turn your volume up, as the audio volume of the video is not good.
In the video, Amy’s heart is melting. In the caption, she says, “He’s also the sweetest purest soul you ever could meet.” You can barely hear the janitor in this video, but what comes through loud and clear is the melodious beauty of a well-tuned tenor.

This is not the first janitor who got caught singing on the job. Many of you might remember Richard Goodall, who appeared on America’s Got Talent and received the Golden Buzzer from Heidi Klum. Richard went on to win the whole season, taking home the million-dollar prize. After winning, he happily went right back to pushing his broom and scrubbing toilets in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Nobody seems to give school janitors much credit, but they can be some of the most influential people in a student’s life. After finding a crumpled letter from a student to his bullies, janitor Ian Greenarch wrote the young man. Ian began, “I want you to know that I’m thinking about you, buddy,” and continued to tell the student that he does matter. Sometimes, it only takes one voice to drown out the cacophony of negativity.
Amy should seek out her janitor and tell him how his singing made her day. Perhaps he’ll agree to allow her to make a more audible recording. If someone in your life “sings” to your heartstrings, please tell them.
Please share.
