The sudden death of a beloved tv personality and celebrity chef sent shockwaves through the industry. Reps for Anne Burrell confirmed in a statement to People that the Food Network star passed away on June 17, 2025. She reportedly died at her home in Brooklyn, but the family did not release a cause of death. Anne married her husband, Stuart Claxton, in 2021. She is survived by her spouse, his son Javier; her mother, Marlene; sister Jane; brother Ben; nieces Isabella and Amelia; and nephew Nicolas. “Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered,” Anne’s family shared in a statement. “Anne’s light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Her boisterous personality and signature spiky hair were perfect for the stage. Anne shared on Instagram she hoped friends would join her at her performance the day before her death. Anne’s final Instagram post created a haunting memory for those who loved her. “I ran into @greenladyofbrooklyn in my neighborhood today!! I’m not going to lie- I have been keeping an eye out for her,” she wrote. “I may or may not have followed her down the street for a minute. She is just lovely!!!” Anne Burrell shared a huge smile in the photo with the Green Lady of Brooklyn. “Hi Ann it was so much fun meeting you see you again soon in the neighborhood the only thing I make is coffee and fig preserves from my fig tree  love and hugs Elizabeth,” the woman wrote. And enthusiastic Anne replied, “You have a fig tree? That’s amazing. I would LOVE to see it! Delightful to meet you Greenie!!!” An eagle-eyed fan noticed the exchange and made a heart-wrenchingly profound comment. “If this isn’t a reminder to cherish every moment I can’t imagine anything else that might be sad!!
