Clever Parrot Learns How To Communicate When He Has To Go “Potty”

Ray is a bird man. He has several large parrots in his home. There is a white cockatoo, an Amazon green parrot, a macaw (she’s red) named Leia, and George is also a macaw (he’s green and yellow). They can all talk, but have limited vocabularies. George does something unique, though; the parrot is trained to signal when he needs to potty. @rayraychas #george raising his foot to let me know he has to go potty, then raising it higher when I don’t notice right away. #petsoftiktok #birdsoftiktok #macaw #prettybird #poop ♬ I Gotta Poop – Bigedude We aren’t sure how long it took to potty train the parrot, but owner Ray said it took a while. Explaining the process to a fan, Ray said, “I wouldn’t take him off of his playstand until he went potty. I would say “good potty” and give him a treat. I would take him off, let him play for like 10 minutes then put him back on his stand and tell him to go potty again. Rinse and repeat!” George has a way to signal when he needs to potty: he raises a leg to get Ray’s attention. Image from TikTok. Ray has a house full of pets. In addition to the birds, he has a cat, a husky, a fluffy smaller dog, and a medium-sized black dog. He also feeds a possum that hangs out in his yard. All the inside animals get along, and Ray frequently features them together in videos. Ray interacts with each of his pets throughout the day. They have unique personalities, different vocabularies, and abilities. He works with each animal to enrich their lives and enhance their quality of life. While not completely rotten, these critters share a bond with Ray, and he does spoil them. The birds have a life expectancy that can exceed 80 years as pets. Parrots are a lifelong commitment that requires dedicated ownership. Please share. You can find the source of this story’s featured image here.
