Kid Rock is creating a memorable moment for this young fan. Over the weekend, Rock the Country took their American spirit to country fans at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds in Little Rock, Arkansas. With artists like Hank Williams Jr., Travis Tritt, Nickelback, and Kid Rock performing, fans were in for a rocking weekend filled with the legends of country music. During Kid Rock’s set, the Detroit Cowboy noticed a young fan right on the guard rail. Kid Rock asked the young boy how old he was. His father, who was standing behind him, filming the interaction, answered for him, saying he was eight years old. “Eight years old. Is that your mama and daddy? And he let you come to a Kid Rock show?” Kid Rock chuckles when he asks that last question, which makes me crack up. Kid Rock’s always been unapologetically himself, but that does not always mean he will be a PG performer. “That must be the coolest daddy on Earth. I see you down there, have fun tonight.”  Kid Rock then walked away to continue with his setlist. However, that would not be the last time Kid Rock acknowledged this young fan that night. The young boy was holding his hat over the rail, again catching Kid Rock’s eye. “Do you want me to sign that hat for you?” The kid shakes his head eagerly. “Nah, I’m not going to sign that. I’m not signing Jack. But you can have my saxophone if you want to take that home.” The boy takes the saxophone, and you can hear his father say he will hold it for him for the remainder of the show. Don’t get me wrong, a gift from any artist is memorable, but a saxophone is definitely unconventional. A few fans quickly commented that the boy looked beyond confused as he turned around to his dad holding the woodwind instrument. “Kid is like ‘tf imma do with a saxophone.’ But the father said in the comments that his son was so excited about the gift, and Kid Rock’s team even put the saxophone’s case in front of them to safely hold and transport the instrument. Now that’s cool. Kid Rock is a man of the people, and that’s something that a young boy can hold onto for decades. Who knows?
