BREAKING: Hamas Kills 7 Israeli Soldiers In Surprise Attack
The Israel-Iran conflict has been settled for now, but the conflict between Israel and Hamas remains.
Israeli authorities have reported that 7 Israeli soldiers were killed in Southern Gaza on Wednesday.
According to an IDF spokesperson, a member of Hamas approached an Israeli military vehicle and threw an explosive inside it.
The Times of Israel had the full details on the attack:
Seven soldiers were killed during fighting in the southern Gaza Strip after an armored vehicle they were in was hit by an explosive device on Tuesday, marking one of the deadliest incidents for the Israel Defense Forces in months.
The soldiers were named on Wednesday as Lt. Matan Shai Yashinovski, 21, from Kfar Yona; Staff Sgt. Ronel Ben-Moshe, 20, from Rehovot; Staff Sgt. Niv Radia, 20, from Elyakhin; Sgt. Ronen Shapiro, 19, from Mazkeret Batya; Sgt. Shahar Manoav, 21, from Ashkelon; Sgt. Maayan Baruch Pearlstein, 20, from Eshhar; and Staff Sgt. Alon Davidov, 21, from Kiryat Yam.
They all served with the 605th Combat Engineering Battalion.
The deaths raised Israel’s toll in the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza and in military operations along the border with the Strip to 440.
According to an initial IDF probe, during operations in Khan Younis, a Hamas terror group operative ran up to the soldiers’ Puma armored combat engineering vehicle (CEV), and dropped a bomb into an open hatch.

The move came as Israeli military leaders announced they will now put their focus on the war in Gaza now that the Iran conflict has been halted.
Per Newsweek:
Israeli Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, a hardline right-winger in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, has called for intensified military action in Gaza following the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
The comments are an indication of where Israel will turn its attention now the war with Iran appears to have been stopped after Israeli strikes on military and nuclear sites and Iranian retaliation against Israel with ballistic missiles and drones.
Iranian-backed Hamas, which set off the biggest upheavals in the Middle East for decades with its October 7, 2023 attack on Israel, looks increasingly isolated as it battles for survival in the devastated Gaza Strip.
