Just In Time: Driver Spots Owl Stuck In Barbed Wire Fence & Immediately Stops To Help
Lexie Echols got a frantic call from her sister-in-law a few weeks back. She was driving near Lexie’s home and spotted an owl trapped in a barbed wire fence. Lexie gathered some gloves, a box, and a blanket and headed out to help. Working carefully, the women were able to rescue the owl.
@uncstan What a day! I’m so thankful my sister in law stopped when she saw something was wrong and called for help so we could save this beautiful owl! He seemed so grateful Thanks Chintimini Wildlife Center for caring for all of our precious wildlife. @Chintimini Wildlife Center, OR ♬ original sound – KC – KC
They placed the stunned raptor in the box. He seemed grateful as he melted into the safety of the cardboard. The two women contacted Chintimini Wildlife Center, which took over care of the rescued owl. The wildlife center sent an update that Lexie read to her fans.

The wildlife center has been posting frequent updates on its TikTok account. The small rescue center operates solely on donations. If you shed a tear, you owe it to yourself to follow up and follow through. There is a fundraising link for your convenience. Lexie is also keeping the donation link on her TikTok.
You May Remember Lexie’s Family
If you thought Lexie and this family sounded like old friends, we have written about them before. Lexie’s parents, who live up the street, had a miniature schnauzer named Stan. Lexie thought of the dog as her brother, but on the internet he was Uncle Stan.
Sadly, Uncle Stan passed away in August 2024. His family took him on one last camping trip the week before. Family surrounded the beloved dog as he transitioned. They posted a lovely memorial video on Instagram, thanking their fans for their love for Uncle Stan.
The spicy little barn owl fledgling is doing well since his rescue. Posts about his rescue and recovery have gone viral, spreading globally. Much of that support comes from Stan’s fans, and the wildlife center is grateful.
Please share, we think Stan is watching.
