Luke Combs Suggests “Crowd Sourcing” The Tracklist On His Upcoming Album: “See What Y’all Like Best”

Luke Combs might be getting creative with his upcoming album. One of the hardest thing an artist can do in the modern age is attempt to expect what fans want out of their music. Do they want something just like the last album? Or do the fans long for a new sound from an old artist? Only when the project drops does the artist actually know the answer. Unless Luke Combs changes the way music is released forever. To be honest with you, I don’t think the “Beautiful Crazy” singer can go wrong with his next record, which he’s been working on and teasing for quite some time. All the way back in March of this year, Combs shared this post that I think about at least twice a day: “I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks working on what my next record looks like and as it begins to take shape I can honestly say I’ve never felt better about one at this stage. It’s early on but I really do think it could wind up being the best record I’ve ever made.” I’ve been spending the last couple of weeks working on what my next record looks like and as it begins to take shape I can honestly say I’ve never felt better about one at this stage. It’s early on but I really do think it could wind up being the best record I’ve ever made. — Luke Combs (@lukecombs) March 26, 2025 Best record Luke Combs has ever made? Say less. Slowly but surely, we’ve found out about what could make Combs upcoming album the pinnacle of his career… thus far. For one, he wants to go back to his earlier sound and create anthemic, stadium-filling songs that tap into what he does best. That sought after vibe was clear in the single he’s already released by the name of “Back in the Saddle.” It’s a Luke Combs vocal masterclass, and it’s ready to be played at full volume at all times. And fans have already shown a lot of support for the new track. But Combs is potentially interested in taking that response even further, and making it much more specific. The country star shared on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he’s seriously entertaining the idea of crowd sourcing the next project, presumably to ensure that every song that’s on it is a fan favorite: “Seriously considering ‘Crowd Sourcing’ my next record. Like just put up a bunch of demos and work tapes to see what y’all like best.” Seriously considering “Crowd Sourcing” my next record. Like just put up a bunch of demos and worktapes to see what y’all like best. — Luke Combs (@lukecombs) August 5, 2025 Letting the people decide what makes it on the album? That makes sense in two ways. One, fans could hear a large amount of Luke Combs music at once and help determine his track list. Two, Luke Combs can’t be entirely blamed if people don’t like the record. It’s a real win-win scenario. People in the reply section of the post loved the idea. But one fan – who just so happens to be a former NFL star –felt as though he needed to announce some concern he had with Luke Combs’ message: “I first read this as ‘seriously considering crowd surfing.'” I first read this as “seriously considering crowd surfing” — JJ Watt (@JJWatt) August 5, 2025 Hilarious. The only thing funnier? Luke Combs quick-witted response: “That’d be all good for nobody.” That’d be all good for nobody. https://t.co/cOMoJQdOiW — Luke Combs (@lukecombs) August 5, 2025 Here’s to hoping that Luke Combs ultimately does decide to crowd source his next album. Until we all get to scan through a plethora of Luke Combs songs all at once in an effort to help him craft together his forthcoming album, we’ll have to make do with firing up his latest song that required no crowd sourcing whatsoever: “Back in the Saddle” The post Luke Combs Suggests “Crowd Sourcing” The Tracklist On His Upcoming Album: “See What Y’all Like Best” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
