Prayers Up For Parker McCollum’s Lawn: “I Give Up”

Things are not looking good for Parker McCollum and his dream of winning Lawn of the Month with his HOA. However, after watching this video, I must admit that I already had doubts that he lived somewhere with an HOA, and seeing some of this stunning property has made me more certain than ever that my suspicion was correct. Hey…a Texas boy needs his land. Over the last few months, I have been consumed by Parker McCollum‘s grass journey. I am far from being a father, but the joy I get from watching him share his tiny victories and frustrations in keeping his grass brings me immense entertainment. Perhaps it’s because I experience similar frustrations when seeding my horse’s pasture, hoping for lush, green grass, and I am often faced with disappointment. It’s like the same struggles, just in a different font, in my book. Parker McCollum has shared some behind-the-scenes footage of his lawn care routine, revealing that the day after performing on stage with Kid Rock at AT&T Stadium, he was on his ride-on mower cutting the grass. He joked that sitting on his lawnmower was a stark difference compared to the few minutes he spent on stage rapping with the “Cowboy” vocalist. “Win some, lose most.” @parkermccollumWin some and lose the rest…?♬ original sound – parkermccollum I mean… that’s life as a rockstar dad, eh? With that video being shared before the temperatures got scorching hot, and being on tour, you might think that he would take the summer off to let his grass do its thing, then be ready to hit the ground running in the fall when things are a little cooler. Wrong. He remained committed to the cause of having great grass. A Parker McCollum fan account, @limestone.archive, screen-recorded and shared a hilarious stream of conscious thoughts from McCollum about the state of his grass. “It’s 9 o’clock at night. I’m still out here screwing with the sprinklers. It’s hard to love grass. Choose your hard.” HA. @parkermccollumarchive choose your hard #parkermccollum #country #countryfan #livelaughlove ♬ Killin’ Me – Parker McCollum You’d think that his messing with the sprinklers means his grass is looking better than top tier… well, think again. McCollum hopped on Instagram today, August 7th, to give fans a grass update. The final part of this saga, it seems. “Well, after four months of investing an insane amount of my time, energy, focus, and resources on my grass. This is the result…” McCollum flips his camera around to reveal his stunning… green and brown patchy lawn. “I give up.” I mean, it could be all brown grass! At least there are some patches of green. He must’ve done something right to keep those spots alive and growing. I would say that this feels like a time where McCollum throws in the towel and brings in some professional help, but I have a sneaking suspicion that in a few weeks, he will be back out on the mower trying to revive his lawn. Lawns, man… they might be harder to keep up with than kids. The post Prayers Up For Parker McCollum’s Lawn: “I Give Up” first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
