“It Is Definitely Going To Happen” – UFC CEO Dana White Confirms Historic 2026 Event

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White said the company will stage a fight at the White House on July 4, 2026. The historic event will commemorate America’s 250th birthday. “It is definitely going to happen,” White told “CBS Mornings.” #BREAKING: Dana White has just officially announced and confirmed that the UFC will host a fight at the White House on July 4, 2026. — R A W S A L E R T S (@rawsalerts) August 12, 2025 CBS News has more: White said he spoke with President Donald Trump Monday night about the event and plans to meet with Mr. Trump and Ivanka Trump at the end of this month to finalize details and review venue renderings. A source familiar with the planning confirmed that the White House expected the event to happen. “When he called me and asked me to do it, he said, ‘I want Ivanka in the middle of this,'” White said. “So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings.” The announcement comes as UFC finalizes a groundbreaking seven-year streaming deal with Paramount worth an average of $1.1 billion annually. The agreement represents a significant shift from UFC’s traditional pay-per-view model, with select events to be simulcast on CBS. “This historic deal with Paramount and CBS is incredible for UFC fans and our athletes. For the first time ever, fans in the US will have access to all UFC content without a Pay-Per-View model, making it more affordable and accessible to view the greatest fights on a massive platform,” White said. “This deal puts UFC amongst the biggest sports in the world. The exposure provided by the Paramount and CBS networks under this new structure is a huge win for our athletes and anyone who watches and loves this sport,” he added. The octagon on the White House lawn. This might go down as one of the most watched sporting events of all time!… pic.twitter.com/ylWjsHnQIk — The Vigilant Fox (@VigilantFox) July 4, 2025 The big question now is which fighters will participate. No fighters have been announced yet for the White House event. Yahoo Sports noted: The most notable volunteer among fighters was Conor McGregor, who has not competed in the UFC since 2021 but visited Trump at the White House in March, months after being found liable for rape in a case that ended a number of business relationships. The Irishman wrote on X, “I would be honoured! Count me in!” Multiple-time champion Jon Jones has expressed interest in coming out of retirement to take part in the White House event. He recently re-entered UFC’s anti-doping testing pool in hopes of returning to the ring. White was skeptical of including Jones on the White House card saying after UFC 318, “I just can’t risk putting him in big positions in a big spot and have something go wrong, especially the White House card.” Jones is currently under investigation for his involvement in an alleged hit-and-run incident in February. Such a spectacle would be the culmination of a decades-long relationship between White and Trump, who hosted multiple UFC events for the promotion at a rocky time in its early history. The president is a frequent attendee of major UFC events, where he usually receives a warm reception from the sport’s right-leaning fan base.
