Jon Pardi Tapped As Halftime Performer For The 2025 Big 12 Football Championship

Jon Pardi to take center stage at AT&T Stadium. This morning, the “Honkytonk Hollywood” singer Jon Pardi was announced as this year’s Big 12 Championship halftime performer. Over the past few years, the Big 12 Conference has featured live music at the Big 12 Championship, with the last two halftime performers being Nelly and Ne-Yo. In 2023, they experimented with featuring country music, having Warren Zeiders sing the national anthem, but the performance was lackluster to say the least, leaving many viewers thinking, “What the hell was that?” In short, it’s about time we got a kicka** country music performer, and there is no better man to give that responsibility to than Jon Pardi. Fresh off the release of his critically-acclaimed fifth album Honkytonk Hollywood, the California native has racked up six No. 1 singles, including his current Top 10 single “Friday Night Heartbreaker.” Throughout his career, Pardi has captivated fans with his hypnotizing modern honky tonk sound, and knows how to throw down on stage, not only lighting it on fire vocally but also engaging the crowd from start to finish during his performances. As an avid football fan, Pardi also has a long professional connection to the sport, from performing at the College Football Playoff to having his “Night Shift” music video debut on ESPN as a lead-in to the kickoff. In 2017, Pardi even announced an NFL Draft pick for his beloved San Francisco 49ers, selecting their 4th-round draft pick, Joe Williams. Because of this personal tie to football, Pardi shared that he’s over the moon to be selected as this year’s performer, noting: “I’m so fired up to be part of the Big 12 Football Championship game this year — and to be the first country artist to do it makes it even more fun. It’s going to be a good time – we’re going to give fans an unforgettable show.” Fixin' to have ourselves a Pardi #Big12FB | @JonPardi pic.twitter.com/l2pqud9TTu — Big 12 Conference (@Big12Conference) August 13, 2025 During his performance, Pardi will be joined by the marching bands from both teams. The 2025 Big 12 Football Championship will be held on Saturday, December 6, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. CT on Thursday, August 14, exclusively via SeatGeek. As an Oklahoma State alum, if our football season looks anything like last year’s, I will not be in AT&T supporting the Pokes, but I will be there regardless to sing along to my favorite Jon Pardi songs.
