Sesame Street Is Going Country With First Ever Grand Ole Opry Performance
The Grand Ole Opry celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025, and it’s a year-long party. For months, the iconic Nashville venue has had special guests, concerts, and shows, and continues to announce new performances. On August 13, the Grand Ole Opry shared something huge on social media.
“Surprise! We can’t wait to welcome Elmo and Abby Cadabby all the way from Sesame Street to the circle tomorrow for a special debut,” the Opry wrote on Facebook.
While the Muppets have appeared at the Grand Ole Opry before, the Sesame Street duo marks the first ever to perform live.
“Where can we see this happen? I grew up with Sesame Street will any other Special Guests show up? Maybe Kermit The Frog could make an appearance singing a song that would be so Awesome,” someone commented.
“For those of you complaining Why can’t companies have fun,” another person wrote. “It’s 2025 for bloody sakes. I support FUN and I support companies trying something different!”
