McDonald’s Franchisees Agree To Lower Cost Of Beloved Meal
As inflation continues to make dining out difficult for U.S. families, McDonald’s has been working to offer meals and snacks at a lower cost. And its most recent effort has fans cheering.
This year, the franchise has introduced a $5 Meal deal and a McValue Menu. It also brought back the beloved Snack Wrap, which only costs $2.99 in most locations. Now, the company has decided to cut the prices of combo meals.

The Wall Street Journal reported that “after pitching operators on the plan, McDonald’s and its U.S. franchisees agreed to keep the cost of eight popular combo meals 15% below the sum of the individual items’ prices.”
McDonald’s Franchisees Will Also Offer Localized Menu Deals
With a 15% cut, a meal that formerly cost $10 would drop to $8.50. The outlet also shared that there will be Extra Value Meals, a $5 breakfast, and an $8 Big Mac and McNugget special coming to the menu, as well. And many individual franchisees will be offering their own special deals.
The changes come after McDonald’s faced backlash for extreme price hikes, particularly when certain locations began selling $18 Big Mac meals. According to McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger, those reports were “poorly sourced” and “inaccurate.”
