But the Trump administration has made it clear that Ukraine will have to concede those areas in any settlement. By raising maximalist goals now, Zelensky is peeing in the pool. Vice President JD Vance says Russia has made “significant concessions” to President Trump, marking a possible shift in the conflict. Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reports that the Trump administration has had to restrain Ukraine from using long-range missiles to hit targets inside Russia—provocations that could blow up peace talks before they even start. And let’s not forget: just last week Ukraine attacked Hungary, a NATO country. NATO props them up, and yet they lash out at NATO states?
