Lucky Passerby Catches Mama Owl Teaching Her Baby To Fly
Have you ever stopped and admired a bird soaring through the sky? It’s fun to imagine what it must feel like to travel in such a fun way. But have you ever thought about what it’s like for a bird to learn how to fly? As natural as this ability is for our feathered friend, it’s not innate. So, this leaves bird parents with the responsibility to teach their young ones. And, as luck would have it, a woman named Brit caught a mama owl and her baby in the middle of one of these lessons.
According to Brit’s social media post, this owl and her baby’s lesson took place near her work. One day, the two of them were clearly in the middle of a flight lesson. As the baby owl struggled to get their wings to flap just right, mom patiently watched nearby. Witness this precious moment for yourself in the video below!

As soon as the baby owl takes off a bit, mama flies away. But don’t worry — she’s likely nearby. While most owls do leave the nest after a few weeks, depending on the type of owl, she won’t fully leave until her baby is ready.
Mama Owl Teaches Her Baby to Fly, and Now We’re All Crying
This sweet and simple video has quite a few people talking. For starters, one commenter makes a hilarious observation, noting that “we all learn to drive/fly in the local random parking lot.” In addition to the funny comments, however, are ones that are quite emotional.
“This reminds me of when my mommy 1st taught me how to drive in a parking lot,” someone shares in reply to Brit’s heartwarming video. Other commenters add, “Enjoy while it lasts, once [they’re] mature there’s no turning back” and “Why am I crying [though].”
