Sierra Ferrell Praises Post Malone For How He Carries Himself On Tour: “He’s Very Friendly & Kind… Just Surrounded By Good People”

Sierra Ferrell is currently on a musical rocket ship herself – career wise – but she still can take a moment to appreciate the bigger artists that have helped her get to where she is today. The artist that’s managed to pull together blues, roots, bluegrass, Americana and country all into one, beautiful melting pot sat down with John Mayer on his How’s Life with John Mayer SiriusXM show to discuss anything and everything about her career. The topic mainly revolved around how much of a whirlwind things have been ever since she released Trail of Flowers in the spring of 2024. After her debut record Long Time Coming stunned the music community (in a good way), her highly anticipated sophomore record lived up to the hype. Ferrell’s Trail of Flowers earned Grammy nominations for Best Americana Album, Best Americana Performance (“American Dreaming”), Best American Roots Song (“American Dreaming”), and Best American Roots Performance (“Lighthouse”). She won all four of those Grammys. Naturally, having a debut album that really makes the music world perk up, and then a sophomore album that’s decorated with four Grammy awards, is going to advance one’s career. But her success didn’t happen overnight. Sierra Ferrell has been hard at work, and part of that process was opening for larger acts like Zach Bryan and Post Malone. Sierra traveled with Bryan during his 2024 The Quittin’ Time Tour, and helped Post Malone as an opener during his 2025 Big A** Stadium Tour. The rising artist had nothing but good things to say about both, but really had praise for Posty: “Post and Zach Bryan, they have huge followings. I’m not saying that I don’t. Especially Post, he’s been around for a really long time. He’s got people there singing his songs, and it is really beautiful and charming. He had great fans.” John Mayer offered up his own positive views on Post Malone, calling him the “rockstar for our times,” which Sierra agreed with and backed up with her further statements. She got into more specific details about what makes Post Malone such a special person and performer, saying: “What an entertainer, Post is. He’s doing two hour shows. Just watching him… it’s so inspirational in a lot of ways. I was like, ‘Wow, he’s really out here doing it.’ And he doesn’t really party all that much, which you know, tip the hat to that… He’s also really relatable. He’s very friendly and kind and he makes sure you are doing well. At least with my experience on tour. He’s just surrounded by good people.” Sierra Ferrell and John Mayer aren’t the first people to have kind words about Post Malone. He’s one of the most respected and loved artists currently in the music industry, and his time in country music with the F1 Trillion record has led to a number of connections in the world of country. It certainly seems like Post Malone knows how to carry himself, and takes pride in doing things the right way.
