He wrote that one during the pandemic lockdowns. Frank thinks it might have been a bit too sad, but everyone was sad during that period. Frank’s emotions don’t shut off. He states that when he covers a song, he tries to imagine the mood and tone of the writer. Sad songs make him sad, and that comes through in his version. He admits that he has never been good with happy songs because he “can’t pull cheerfulness off.” In real life, he is a cheerful man, but he can’t convey that in song.
