Harry Potter fans are in mourning following the death of one very important man. Oscar-winning Production Designer Stuart Craig helped bring J.K. Rowling’s vision of the Harry Potter universe to the big screen. Sadly, the famed designer lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease on September 7 following a battle with Parkinson’s disease. His death saddened fans, family, and friends. J.K. Rowling took to X to pay tribute to a man who helped change her life forever. “Working with Stuart Craig was one of the privileges of my life. He was a true visionary and conjured the wizarding world for the screen as nobody else could have done,” she wrote. “He was also one of the nicest people you ever could hope to meet. Stuart Craig gave millions a world to inhabit. A giant of British film craft and, by all accounts, a gentleman. Deepest condolences to his family and all who loved him,” someone shared. “I was fortunate to have dinner with him and there’s not an adjective for how humble and lovely Stuart was. A master who’s designs for Hogwarts defined our childhood. Rest in peace Stuart,” another wrote. “The production design in the HP movies was staggeringly good. So much of what I pictured in my mind was rendered right there on the screen in that first movie.
