CNN correspondent Elizabeth Wagmeister has some very good news to report. The 35-year-old and her husband, Michael Sigall, are expecting their first baby. Elizabeth shared the good news with People, and a bit of the backstory. “I actually found out I was expecting four days before Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ trial began,” Elizabeth explained. “Of course, my husband and I were overjoyed, but I was so stunned that, if I’m being honest, my immediate reaction was, ‘How am I going to get through this trial?'” Elizabeth said that CNN relocated her to New York City from her home base in Los Angeles. She had to quickly find an OBGYN in the Big Apple to help her during those early weeks. But being so focused on my work was actually a great distraction from all of the pregnancy symptoms,” she said. Elizabeth Wagmeister credits CNN and her female colleagues for embracing her during her pregnancy. She said the network is a positive working environment for women. “I really just feel so lucky to work with so many amazing women at CNN — from our executives to correspondents and anchors to producers and our hair-and-makeup team, our network is full of incredible working moms who have figured out how to somehow juggle it all amidst the 24/7 news cycle,” she said. Elizabeth told People she’s due on January 3, so she’ll be sitting out the New Year’s Eve celebration with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen this year.
