Morgan Wallen Replaces His Own Song & Scores 12th Career #1 Hit On Hot Country Chart With “I Got Better”

Even better as a number one hit. With rumors swirling about a potential 2026 tour, thanks in part to his most recent Instagram post, Morgan Wallen has continued his outright domination of the country charts with yet another #1 hit, this time with “I Got Better.” As reported by Billboard, “I Got Better” pulled a staggering 13.2 million official U.S. streams, 31 million impressions on radio and sold 1,000 units overall, which propelled the track to #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The track, written by Wallen himself along with HARDY, ERNEST, Blake Pendergrass, Charlie Handsome, Chase McGill and Joe Reeves, was undoubtedly one of the standouts on I’m The Problem for many fans of the Tennessee native. It would also serve as one of Wallen’s favorites as well, being described as his “most personal song” from the record. “‘I got better since you got gone’ would be how I feel right now. I’d say that’s one that really came from my heart, and it can mean many things. It’s not just a song to a girl, it could be a song to anything that’s holding you back. That’s why I like that song so much, for a long time I had a lot of things holding me back. I’ve finally said goodbye to a lot of those things, and I’m proud of the results that have come from doing that. So, I’d say ‘I Got Better’ is my most personal song right now.” Ironically, Wallen dethroned himself atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart after his crossover megahit with Canadian pop star, Tate McRae, cruised to #1 and stayed there for the past 20 weeks en route to making the “Last Night” singer the first solo country act ever to score multiple 20+ week #1 hits on the chart. “I Got Better” marks Wallen’s 12 career #1 on the chart,  joining the likes of “Whiskey Glasses,” “7 Summers,” “Last Night” and more. Additionally, it’s already the fourth single from his latest record-breaking album, I’m The Problem, to top the chart since its release on May 16th. Diving further into Wallen’s dominance on the Hot Country Songs chart, since he debuted at #1 with “Whiskey Glasses” on May 18, 2019, he is the only artist to score more than five #1s with Luke Combs firmly sitting in second place with four compared to Wallen’s staggering 12 chart-toppers. The full list of Wallen’s #1s on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart is as follows: “I Got Better” (1 week and counting) “What I Want” feat.
