Today, Morgan Wallen released his cover of Nothing But Thieves’ song “Graveyard Whistling” on streaming platforms everywhere, as it was previously only available as an Amazon Music exclusive. Fans first fell in love with Morgan’s rendition of the song when he recorded it at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London for his Abbey Road Sessions project, though the Amazon version definitely has Morgan’s unique spin on the 2014 song by English rock band. The production has that certain “thing” to it that most of his songs do in terms of it having just a touch of hip hop and even R&B influence, and I’m still partial to the original live recording. But I have to say it’s an interesting song choice for Wallen, and not something I would have necessarily expected him to cover, though I appreciate the variety and think it’s a cool, unexpected cover for him. Also, it makes sense for him to release this as we approach Halloween, and I’m sure fans that didn’t have Amazon music before are glad that he’s putting it out everywhere. In fact, considering the cover art looks like it was directly inspired by the cover of I’m The Problem, it may also hint that Morgan plans to drop a deluxe version of his record-breaking album. Nothing has been announced yet, but that record already has 37 songs, so I’m not really sure why we need a deluxe edition if that is coming next, but obviously fans can never get enough of his music so I know it will be a huge success if and when it drops. Morgan has also been teasing a 2026 tour, so I’m sure an announcement on a deluxe edition of the album and a tour announcement is probably coming soon: Morgan recently wrapped up his headlining I’m The Problem stadium tour which trekked to cities in the United States and Canada, so I’m sure he’ll probably continue playing stadiums next year.
