Nobody is above the law and that goes for police too! An Illinois police officer was arrested by ICE after he was found to be living in the United States illegally. The officer has been identified as Radule Bojovic who is originally from Montenegro but came to the United States on a tourist visa that has since expired. Fox News provided the following details on the officer’s arrest: An Illinois police officer living in the United States illegally has been arrested by immigration authorities, the Department of Homeland Security announced Thursday. Radule Bojovic, an illegal immigrant from Montenegro who was working as a sworn police officer with the Hanover Park Police Department, was taken into custody during Operation Midway Blitz, which targets illegal immigrants living in Illinois because of the state’s sanctuary policies, federal officials said. Fox News Digital has reached out to the police department and the office of Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, a frequent critic of President Donald Trump and his immigration policies. “J.B. Pritzker doesn’t just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois’s communities — he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers,” said Assistant Homeland Security Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Radule Bojovic violated our nation’s laws and was living illegally in the United States for 10 years. What kind of police department gives criminal illegal aliens badges and guns?” “It’s a felony for aliens to even possess a firearm — a law enforcement officer who is actively breaking the law,” she added. “Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, ICE is restoring law and order. DHS says Bojovic was encountered during a targeted enforcement action part of “Operation Midway Blitz” in the Chicago area. Federal officials also said that Hanover Park police records confirm he was approved by the pension fund board of trustees in January 2025. DHS released a statement on the arrest Thursday afternoon, saying in part, “Governor J.B. Pritzker doesn’t just allow violent illegal aliens to terrorize Illinois’s communities, he allows illegal aliens to work as sworn police officers. Radule Bojovic violated our nation’s laws and was living ILLEGALLY in the United States for 10 years.” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem also commented on social media, saying “ICE arrested an illegal alien working as a sworn police officer in Chicago suburb… radical sanctuary politicians have allowed criminal illegal aliens to infiltrate our school districts, communities and even police departments.” However, the Hanover Park Police Department released a statement saying Bojovic presented the Village with a valid Work Authorization Card, which was issued by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, a card that was recently renewed.
