“Quiet Afternoon Walk” Turns Into Dramatic (And Aquatic) Sheep Rescue Thanks To Heroic Husband

A group was enjoying a quiet afternoon walk with the sun shining and the temperature moderate. The sounds of nature were creating a peaceful, serene setting… Until the calm quiet was interrupted by the distressed bleating of a sheep. Following the sounds led to the edge of a pond where a sheep had fallen in the water. As the poor sheep flailed in the water, the group tried to figure out a rescue plan.
There was no way around it. Someone would have to get wet to rescue the sheep. Mabel & Olive‘s dad was the first volunteer baptismal sacrifice. He jumped into the waist-deep water and got hold of the wayward sheep. Bringing it toward the shore, he attempted to lift it for the other men waiting to grab it. He couldn’t get the animal up high enough, though.

A second member of their group slid down into the water. The two men managed to lift the sheep just high enough for the third and fourth men to grasp it. It took the combined strength of all four men, but they did it. The sheep was safely on land and could return to the nearby flock.
Getting the men out was the next priority. The second man in was the first out, with a helping hand from Mabel & Olive’s dad. In a comedy of errors, he turned to help the pup’s dad. The strap they were grasping gave way, depositing Mabel & Olive’s dad back in the drink. The third man came back, and the two-handed assist was successful. Everyone was back on land, and they could continue their peaceful walk.
Mabel & Olive would be proud of their dad’s mastery of water.
