Prince William is prepping for the fifth annual Earthshot Prize Awards, which will take place in Brazil on November 5. The Earthshot Prize is a global environmental prize given to those who make significant strides in tackling environmental challenges. This year, to help celebrate, Earthshot announced some big stars who will attend the incredible event. “From musicians, to sports icons, to environmental activists, some of the world’s most influential people will join us in Rio to celebrate our Finalists and announce our five Winners,” the Earthshot Prize shared on Instagram. Entertainment includes Kylie Minogue, Shawn Mendes, Gilberto Gil, Anitta, Luciano Huck, and Cafu. Matthew McConaughey filmed a special action trailer showcasing the work of the 15 finalists. They’re all hoping to take home the $1.3 million prizes to help fund their idea to help save the planet. “When the stakes are highest, that’s when heroes rise,” Matthew says in a voiceover announcing the Earthshot Prize Awards entertainment. But alongside the warnings are reasons for genuine optimism,” according to the Earthshot website. “By spotlighting the best examples of climate leadership and problem-solving from around the world, we show that the answers to these problems exist.” The entertainment announcements excited fans. “My wedding is on November 1st, and Shawn will be in Rio right after it would be the greatest gift of my life to see him up close,” someone wrote. “Prince William, FOUNDER OF THE EARTHSHOT PRIZES, has a nice ring to it,” another person wrote.
